Fabspeed jewelry arrived today

I recieved my Fabspeed HFCs/X-pipe with resonators today and got them installed pretty much immediately afterward. My thoughts:

1. Service was excellent as advertised- ordered them last week and got them 3 business days later. Packaging was great and the pieces were in good condition on arrival.

2. Installation was done at a local exhaust shop- I probably could have done it myself, but more convenient to have a proper exhaust guys do it. I made sure they used a mallet to tap out the heat shield a bit and that was not a problem- no issues with rubbing/vibration. Basically was a complete bolt on process. Welds and craftsmanship were excellent BTW

3. Soundwise, I had magnaflow mufflers without resonators prior to install and baseline, the car had a deeper tone than stock. After the X-pipe install, there is a throatier note from low to mid RPM and the exhaust howls more at WOT. I was surprised at idle and cruising, it was very livable and pretty quiet actually. Anyone who has concerns that this will make there exhaust too loud, no need to worry at all. Sounds great when you get on the throttle, otherwise just a nice slightly exotic tone while cruising.

4. Power is felt at the low to mid RPM as the dynos have suggested and it goes all the way up the RPM range. I do not plan on dynoing my car, the feel of the car is enough for me. The bottomline is that the car feels more alive now and the feeling slight sluggishness at low RPM is not really there anymore.

Overall, I am very satisfied with the addition. It was a bday present from the wife and I couldn't be happier. Thanks to Joey at Fabspeed for the help. No CEL of course so far and I don't expect one. I will post vids soon. Here are some pics

Very nice.... it appears the X has slightly changed from it's original design.

Do you have, or did you get, or going to get a tune to compliment the new exhaust? Any other mods? Original OEM axle back?

Definitely!!! It is not multiple pieces welded together anymore. The x-pipe now is just two pieces of pipe bent and welded at the X.

Looks good! I wonder if the new x-pipe design yields more power?

Guys, just installed the x-pipe w/o HFC's and experienced noticeable power gains. I have an Eisenmann Sport and the combination is perfect. Excellent mod.

Taking a second look, the resonators look longer too!

This is different than mine which I just had installed on last Friday. It would be good to hear from Fabspeed on the official revisions to the design. My x-pipe appears to be a prefabed "x" that was welded in. Mine looks like joe8m3's pic. Very happy with it so far; just curious.

No tune (yet). I chose this X pipe since it doesn't require a tune. Perhaps in the future tho, but I doubt it.

Other mods: H&R springs, AA SSK, magnaflow mufflers, grills/gills, 8k HIDs, amp with new separates, and of course the fabspeed xpipe/HFCs

I think I'm done for awhile, but you never know.

You're right, I didn't notice it. Mine does appear different than the one they have posted on their website. Maybe this is the revised final version. Either way, I love it so far.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

I'm really hoping Jeremy from Fabspeed can clarify the x section changes. There must be some difference. I always hate to see a lack of consistency in products but the system does look great in both flavors.

I wonder if it was a performance oriented change, or just a fabrication oriented change?

My guess is the new X takes less time to build by the looks of the design. There may be some performance difference between the two designs, but I bet that is minimal at best. I'd be curious to hear from Fabspeed though.

Change to products doesn't bother me... Innovation is always welcome!

The new design looks much cleaner and requires less welds which we thought looked better.

I am in an airport going to Texas for the Texas mile right now....I will get into further detail when I return on Sunday for you guys.
