You have to either run the race for full four hours (or park on the side if you have large enough lead). Then the clock ticks the 4th hour, the lap (or the next lap???) you are running will be consider as the final lap and the race ends when you cross the finish line.

It does mean for 4 hours, so virtually you have to be participating in the race for 4 hours....but if you have an hour lead on the other guys, means you can watch some tv, turn back in an hour, and finish the last lap

The race is 4 hours no matter what, and as soon as time's up and you cross the finish line, you're done. I did the Miata Tsukuba 4 hour endurance race. I built up a 25 lap lead near the end and parked my car on the side of the track for about a half hour, then came back to finish the race. Side note: If you run this particular race, you guys will LOOOVE the car you win off it ...not really

I would LOVE to slap Kaz in the face...and ask him WTF he's thinking to get players to sit and play for 24 hours...or let the PS3 run for days....

its worse than a real endurance race where you can actually switch drivers...
this a-spec...you on your own...unless you have friends to swap with you...

if anyone see Kaz at SEMA show....slap him for me!!

I will slap him for sure. They give the worst prize cars, and money rewards for these horrible races. In Forza you would get a kick ass race car and a ton of credits and xp. they need to patch this fast, and triple the rewards to make it more worth it.

I will give them SOME credit. With as much as I have played this game, I haven't gotten too bored or frustrated to stop playing it.

from the sound of it, the endurance races are not worth completing. I'm gonna hold out for a patch before I start those boring things.

Im doing the Indy 500 right now in my FGT and I got bored on lap 2. I do find myself trying to "leap frog" other cars in an attempt to beat my best lap times. Right now the best I could muster is a :38.317 lap time with 84 laps remaining.

I have to do this race and the one at Laguna Seca and I think I'll have enough XP to get to Lv30.

True, but this is also a simulator. When was the last time you saw a real life race only last 6 laps?

The Laguna Seca 200 miler was actually my favorite, mainly because I love that track. I've actually been trying to do a somewhat fair race so I have to race harder, and that makes it more bearable for me.

You speak that truth. I was thinking about getting a knew computer then sign up with iracing, since that is touted as being the best driving simulator out right now but it is only on PC. People like Dale Jr, and even Lewis hamilton are members and use it a lot.

Well, the Indy 500 is in the books. Next up is that 200mi of Laguna Seca, twice I'll do that tomorrow.

Just finished Dream car championship last night...easy win with FGT...
except at the ring 24 hr layout....FGT is really easy to snap if one side on the grass...as if there's a suction hole around the grass area to suck you in...too bad i cannot raise the car height anymore and make the suspension softer and more forgiving....as if the tires air-lifted and sudden grip on landing causing it easy to spunout....

I noticed this too. I think it is just the characteristic of the car. I see real F1 cars do it on TV in sharp corners like that one.

yup...at least the car is light and relatively faster in corners than the competitors....so I spun out 3-5 times...and need to make up like 20+ seconds to catch up to the Zonda LM....
then on second lap...spun again....(me stupid)....caught up again....

and finally the third lap...went off a bit but not losing too much ground (10 secs or so)...easily caught up and overtook and won by 4.5 secs....

i was literally shaking afterwards....a fast car on the ring is really physically and mentally demanding....i cannot imagine how they can do it IRL and 24 hours....

I hear ya. the ring is really stressful in a fast car. The people that can do it for real and be consitant simply amaze me, but I guess they are just so used to it from doing for so long that is second nature to them. Just like fighter pilots dealing with G-force and aerobatic pilots are in the same league. Your body adapts to it. You have have a natural ability to be really competitive though. I know that I couldnt do it even with a ton of practice. I dont have that natural ability or drive to do it. Wish I did.

Have you seen the video of the Zonda R breaking the record on the Ring yet? It is almost cartoon like with the speeds and acceleration the driver is managing.
