Senate Votes to Remove Fed Funding from ACORN

Added as an amendment to the Tranportation/HUD bill.. the vote was 83-7 for the amendment to remove all federal funding from ACORN.

That's pretty dam bipartisan. Along with the Census Bureau distancing themselves from ACORN and 2010 census, you can call this turkey cooked. Now let's the various state's attorney generals complete the criminal indictments against ACORN and we can call this thuggish liberal front of an organization history.

Senate Vote Breakdown Here

The tides are a turnin..

How in the hell can a Senator vote FOR ACORN.

Please, Democrats, I disagree with just about everything you guys believe in, but you guys need to replace ANYONE that voted in favor of ACORN here.

There are better and honorable Dems...

Amazing how the liberal media doesn't even cover this story. I don't think they are the mainstream media anymore. They lost that title for me when they started getting tingles running up their leg when Obama speaks.

Awesome. I just heard about this. There's also news of many criminal investigations into ACORN in a number of states.

Pretty hilarious when you consider how the left-wing media went apeshit over Blackwater/Haliburton and how they were supposedly influencing the Administration or when Abramoff was trying to be tied directly to George Bush even though all they did was take a photograph together.. Nevermind the fact that Obama was ACORNs lawyer at one time.

Hypocrisy is obviously not a tough pill to swallow for the dems..

Hypocrisy is nothing new when it comes to politics. Republican, Democrat, Independent, etc. They are all hypocrites.

ACORN Announces Reforms After 'Pimp,' 'Prostitute' Videos

"As a result of the indefensible action of a handful of our employees, I am, in consultation with ACORN's Executive Committee, immediately ordering a halt to any new intakes into ACORN's service programs until completion of an independent review," ACORN CEO Bertha Lewis said in a statement released Wednesday.

"I have also communicated with ACORN's independent Advisory Council, and they will assist ACORN in naming an independent auditor and investigator to conduct a thorough review of all of the organizations relevant systems and processes."

As his employer, ACORN probably instructed him to pretend this issue didn't exist.

Don't hold your breath - he's looking up wikipedia right now in an attempt to discredit the videographer and actor. Classic deflection. The ACORN moneypit should be coming to a screeching halt very soon so there is just no way to defend this bastion of extreme liberalism.

The sweet irony is that the pretend boycott against Glenn Beck has done the opposite, his ratings are at all time hi and he's managed to get Van Jones and ACORN booted out of government..

Next on the list? Charlie Rangel!!

What are you trying to imply? That I have a hidden agenda? Do you have a problem with people with hidden agendas working this site?

Personally, I think these folks were idiots. Did you see the schmucks who showed up and pretended to be pimps and ho's, like it was halloween?

But when it comes to prostitution, I'm pretty much a Libratarian with my views. Prostitution should be legalized and the gov't should get the hell out of people's bedrooms. The gov'ts interest in not spreading disease can be accomplished much more effectively, and with much less expense and intrusion into people's private affairs than the current laws making prostitution illegal. The only countries/empires/nations to ever in history to effectively stop prostitution were the most evil, oppressive, dictatorships in history. Capitolism cannot be stopped wherever there is a willing supply/demand market.

So forgive me if I'm not quick to jump on the bandwagon of fake outrage that someone might actually help a prostitute. Half the people using this as an attack line with all their pretend outrage don't really care if prostitution is legal or not, and the other half ginning up outrage are doing it to cover for their own trips to prostitutes themselves.

Are you implying that 87 U.S. Senators in this vote are visiting prostitutes?
