I had the same after a year, turned out that the light housing was corroding. Dealer replaced them under warranty. Some other members had this problem as well and I think there's a thread about it but I can't seem to find it right now.

So, take it in and let the dealer have a look, might be the same issue. Hope this helps.

Best regards,
south

yep... I think this is the error code I had a few times this summer. I've yet to get around to bringing it in for service, but I also haven't gotten the code in awhile.... I believe it was cc-id 179?

There is a TSB about this, dealer should be aware.

So far I havnt had any taillight issues with my E92 but my angel eyes went out on one side a few days ago.

I feel the same tho, I also had a E36 M3 Sedan (1997) and dealt with changing taillights regularly

I would NEVER go thru the inconvenience (and waste of my time) of taking my car to a dealer just for a blown bulb, but that's just me. And yes, being 30 miles away makes it even less attractive .
