Tire Wheel Insurance for new e90 M3

Hi all,

About to splurge on a new 2009 M3, and am wondering how much did you pay for your tire and wheel warranty, and if so, where? I have been quoted (all for 60mths) $1495 for unlimited, no deductible, and $1295 no deductible but maybe $5000 limit (still checking on that).

I have searched the forum and see some people quote $1200. Or $714 (but 3 yr only).

I figured, car sale price is the same with most dealership, and just like to negotiate on the tire insurance, to decide on which dealership I should buy from. I'm located in Los Angeles. Thanks for any info!

The rim insurance is a joke most of the time unless the rim is "unable to hold air." So a simple bend won't cover it. I always take my cars to Discount Tire when they are new and they will warranty the wheel against road damage and throw in a lifetime of balances for very little even if they are factory oem tires.

Thx! Too bad I called the local Discount Tires, and Big O Tires. Neither does warranty on tires not purchase/installed by them. Don't know if this is a California thing. I'm actually more interested in insuring the tires and not the wheels... sometimes (depends on the cars) I have bad luck on tires, while on my current 335i, for almost 3 years I only have to replace 1 (albeit costing me roughly $350).

That's odd... I've had the tires insured on my past two vehicles at Discount for road hazard. This was after getting a flat in the first 1200mi on one car and about 2000 on the other. I just had to get the warranty on one and the fixed it and the other required me to buy a completely new tire, but then they sold me the warranty on all four. This is in CA of course.

I Bought mine for $1K No deductible, no policy cap I believe and it runs the term of Factory Warranty. So far in the first year I have made 2 claims, each for a new PS2 because of a nail hole that the dealership did not want to plug. With their PS2 prices $450ish, the warranty has already paid for itself basically and I still have several years left.

I love it and bought it since I bent 3 rims when I owned my s4 (that was expensive)

$750 for five years, no deductible, and no limit. It paid for itself in less than 4 months when I hit a big pothole and blew out the front right tire/rim. Living in Chicago (notoriously bad streets and city is lazy/slow to repair) it was a no-brainer for me to purchase, and I think I got a pretty good deal based on the prices I have seen posted on here over the last year.
