Front strut mount / rear shock mount DIY?

All,

My 2009 E90 had OEM suspension when i purchased it, and rode quite a bit more roughly than any other e9x m3 i have ever driven. I replaced the old OEM shocks and struts and springs with newer equipment from a ZCP car.

The handling improved, but the ride quality issues persisted. I am wondering if this may be due to worn out strut mounts / rear upper shock mounts.

I would like to DIY these parts, but am wondering how much work is involved in doing so as i would rather save some money and DIY if i can.

I am hopeful that the rear shocks dont have to come out to install the upper shock moutns, and all the work can be done in the trunk. Does anyone have a link to a guide on this or any insight?

For the fronts, i am assuming you have to remove the entire strut/spring assembly and disassemble it and then compress it again to replace the strut mounts?

Thank you

if you replaced the OEM shocks, then removing the mounts is easy. Your assumption is correct

The rear, the assembly should've came out with the mounts when you replaced the rear struts

Is your current M3 EDC equipped? (Could be stuck in Sport setting)

And when you're comparing previous E9X M3 you've driven, did they all have the same tires? Tires will make a significant difference to ride quality.

To replace the upper rear shock mount (what I think is the issue), does the car need to be jacked up and or does the suspension need to be Unloaded with the wheels off?
