AA and Akrapovic on the same car! - Page 2

Have you heard the full Akra? It sounds "pleasant". Having heard so many great Akra motorcycle exhausts, I was a little disappointed with it. Don't get me wrong, I love the power gain and the weight loss, but the sound just doesn't thrill like some other systems. That's why this combo works so well.

I just had the Akrapovic X-pipe mounted on thursday. The vendor made special tube adapters out of Titanium to mate with my AA rear factory style system. These 2 exhausts sound amazing together. I will upload the pics soon and also make a video of the amazing combination. I have heard several Akrapovic evolution systems they just dont have the deep roaring sound of the AA sig series. But AA and Akra mated together amazing sound and raw power; especially the midrange trip digits come so so fast.

Lol, that definitely sounds awesome. Very nice indeed. I agree the Akrapovic sound doesn't make you go "oh shiit!" Although in the low rpm when you hear it bounce off walls it's pretty sick. For me personally, I'm 32 years old, going 33, and I think most ppl on the road, when they hear you driving by in a non exotic car with a "loud" exhaust, it wont be appreciated. Don't take offense to that comment, as I do think your exhaust sounds really nice.

I can understand where you're coming from in your perspective, but I strongly believe that even though some cars don't look like exotics (m3), they still have the potential to sound extremely good with the right exhaust set-up.

To me, the sound of a car with an aftermarket exhaust is a HUGE deal, even though most others may not appreciate it.

I just saw my friend just installed the akpovic full system yesterday, I must the its sound like a very expensive tone. NOT explosive at all. but very nice still. I would have got with the full system aswell.

It would sound awsome just a little bit quieter. When I had the stock middle section and the AA rear section, my AA setup was louder than a full akrapovic evolution setup. My AA system sounded good ,but got quiet after 5K Rpm, now wth the Akrapovic middle section my car screams above 5K. I also noticed my fuel economy, slighty increased for the better, 1 mpg better than before.

so trier, are the adapters hard to make in order to mate the Akra mid w/the AA slip on? I currently have AA and would like to go the same route as you...btw, would u describe the sound a little more F1'ish /exotic w/this set-up?

I think it sounds great

, but so does the complete Akra setup. My Evolution exhaust got louder once I put the supercharger on. I would not want it any louder. At least you have the option to sell your AA exhaust and get the Akra back section if you want which would shave a little more weight off the car.

+1, still sounds great but I am also 34 and go along with Sard! Weight sav with mufflers in time

Sounds good to me! Options are good, and this is yet another-- it sounds a little deeper in pitch than the fabspeed-Eisenmann Sport and Akra-Eisenmann sport combos - great for those that don't like as much high pitchin' growls.
