Feeler for a Texas ///M Track Day???
There has been discussion of TX wide ///M meets, but I think a track day would be a lot more fun. If it would be possible to set up a track day for ///M owners around Texas who would be interested? As I have discussed before, Eric at H2R set one up in June, but only four M3s showed up. I'd like to see who here would be down to take part, so that I could approach a track with a significant list already in hand. I'm thinking a weekend in september, october, or even later being that most of TX doesn't really experience much in the way of winter. Would be best to do some time when its not too hot so that guys don't run the risk of over heating.
Feel free to send this to fellow ///M owners on other forums b/c the more the merrier (to a certain extent of course). Open to all kinds of ///M cars and BMWs for that matter. Also, if any one has any contacts at other TX tracks feel free to comment as I'm more than open to something new. Would be open to various BMW vendors and shops as well. Here are links to some recent H2R track day threads: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=266892 http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=272924 --JC Members interested so far, add on if you're in: 1) JC919 2) spicoli024 3) TwoSaints 4) TLud 5) chd2 6) consolidated Last edited by JC919; 08-22-2009 at 02:13 AM. |

I would be in! A buddy of mine has a Z4M, and another has an M6 - I'm pretty sure I could get them to go as well.
Start up a list or something so we can keep track of interest. |

Definitely count me in! I'd vote for H2R because it's fairly central, and I haven't been yet.

Alright, so I'm really bored and really excited about possibly getting a good group to do this track day. With my very mediocre photoshop skills I began playing with a logo idea.
![]() LOL, don't laugh. Instead lets see if some of you guys can come up with something better (I'm sure you can), maybe incorporating the ///M logo? |

I'd prefer to do it at H2R as well b/c those guys are really good people and make any event a lot of fun. There was a poor showing of cars the last time I was there for an M3 event (which wasn't that bad for me as I still had a blast!!) I just want to get enough cars involved so that its viable for H2R to let us have the track for a Saturday. I'm going to continue to advertise this event of various forums and if you know any other ///M owners that may be interested, please spread the word.--JC |

H2R is close to the outlet malls...the perfect sell for married guys!
You could coordinate something with the BMWCCA chapters to get a larger showing. Or maybe try a group thing with The Driver's Edge. There's a 3/4 Oct event at Texas World Speedway. Just got to get 10 people together and sign up. Might be a good way to start this off. Then try an M3 exclusive event later on. Just some ideas. I would be in except I'm stuck in Korea until 2011.

![]() I always see a couple of clubs at the TDE events like Audi, S2000, Miata, and Mini. Why not an M3 following? There's usually at least a couple of E46s and E9X's.

Every time I go to a track there is an s2000 club there. I have never seen more than 2 or 3 other M3s there (any year model). There are, however, usually some 335s but they end up having to take half the day off due to their car over heating. Not sure what BMW was thinking there...
