I can understand more power, and i can also understand that ur paying for the limiter to b removed. But how many times r u really gonna test it out?

What happens in vegas stays in Vegas

I know on the way to the track last time I hit over 190 in the M. You never know when a clear road awaits you.

So for you guys who run the Powerchip tune, does it feel like you are driving in what use to be M mode, when in fact, M mode is off and power setting is off? And when you actually turn on M mode (Power setting maxed out), what does the car feel like then?

Here is the update I promised.

Powerchip finally sent me the cable and software to program my car two weeks ago. I had the dealer flash the car first with ISTA/P 2.35.5 first and then I programmed the car with the the latest Powerchip tune. I have not noticed any increase in power from the first tune, but this new update from Powerchip should correct a problem I had with the original tune (car went in a reduced power mode at full throttle when the tempature was really low). I have not had a chance to test the top speed limiter, but the car has not gone into reduced power mode since the update.

Got a ticket 3 weeks ago while going to Vegas. I jumped on the brakes and got clocked for 92mph, but he was cool and gave me 85mph. Apparently, anything over 85 could be considered "reckless driving!!"

190 is CRAZY!

I'd have to agree. The tune yields 20+hp or so and that really wouldn't "transform" a car much. When my mods on my 335i added 100whp, that turned it into a violent machine, but 20-30hp doesn't usually feel that impressive. I gained 40whp when using 100oct and a race map and I could definitely feel that, but it wasn't really a violent change. We'll see. I plan on doing the Powerchip flash with Mike on my M3 but I'm not expecting the kick in the ass that my 335i tune yielded. Maybe with the tune, pulleys, filter, and catless exhaust I'll get a similar result.

My car feels great when I'm running in the M-Mode

I run my car all the time in M mode once it warms up fully it feels like an Animal and I love it. But with power off feels stong either way to me I just like the faster throttle response that it gives me in Sport plus it suits my driving style better and I'm used to it when Its off I find it harder to drive smoothly but I've heard some people call the power mode too twitchy but I think its perfect.

With the m3, one single mod will just feel like a little boost. If you were to do all those mods in the same day at the same time then yes you will get a kick in the ass. The low end torque at 2500-4000 increases dramatically while the hp over 6000, instead of topping off it keeps increasing.

I agree, I think sport plus is way too agressive. From the factory, IMO normal mode should be increased by 20% and sport mode 10% more.

No reason to make the gas pedal an on/off switch.

Same. I just drive in normal all the time. I COULD drive in sport but I find it a bit more of a hassle. Sport plus is just too crazy..

So, with the cable and flashing hardware from Powerchip, can you flash their software, and then re-flash back to stock whenever you need to (like for a dealership service visit), and then back to "tuned" again?? Seems like that would be an ideal setup...

Ok I dont know how it works here in Canada,

but I have a stock E93 and I touched 175mph the other night?

So I am guessing my car isnt limited

Also, Mike what kind of gains and overall feel are we talking about, if I use your powerchip?

The cable kits are in the works, not sure of the actual day shipping will start on them but it is said to be in the near future. Hope this helps.
