First Wax
My M3 Coupe is only a week old but I already want to apply some Rejex. I use Rejex on newer cars because it is not abrasive like wax. My question is, is there a waiting period with the paint before you should apply anything? It seems water currently beeds on the car like something was applied at the factory. Just don't want to do it too soon.
Any thoughts? |

Yes...the factory paint has not fully cured yet. If you wax it before a month passes, the chemicals that evaporate out of the paint can get stuck in the wax and ruin the finish on your car. You might be ok depending on the production date of the car, but the delivery rep in Munich warned me to not wax right away. My brother is a body man and he says the same thing....

This subject is broached almost as often as trying to pick wheels! I would have said 15 years ago that it might be good to wait 45 days but with the paint process of today and the time that has already passed since the build, you should be fine. I use Rejex on my late model BLACK Corvette and couldnt he happier.

Factory paint does not need to cure because it is baked at high temperature, unlike paint that is done at the body shop that requires a month or so of curing... and your car was painted a long enough time before it got to you presumably if you wanted 6-8 wks to get it from Germany.

Well as others have said it's probably fine. I did ED and I know there was not as much elapsed time for mine since it hasn't had the boat ride yet...Another 4 to 6 weeks

I think we are fine, I mean, most of the car panels come wrapped in plastic during shiping...
