Dyno Results w/ Race Fuel

Hey guys... well as I 'thought' race fuel didn't do anything for my M3...

I know we've 'heard' of others showing these great gains... but these were the BEST of 6 runs... 3 on Pump Gas (w/ less than 2.5 gallons in the car)... and then 3 pulls w/ Race Fuel that was 105 Octane Unleaded... 5 gallons added to 'say 2 gallons of pump 91. Call it 99 Octane?? Maybe higher.

And just like I've seen EVERY TIME i've dyno'd N/A Cars with STOCK Tunes... the car LOST about 4 HP... but did pick up a good 7 FT Lbs of TQ.

So... My guess is I probably had 'too much' octane at this point... but as hot as it was... you'd a thought it would have helped... but clearly didn't do SQUAT on the Dyno today!

The good news... is the HP Autowerks Pulley did 10 RWHP as advertised...

Graph is attached below...

try putting maybe like 100 miles on your car with the 100 octane. then redyno.

Here is the Dyno with HP Autowerks Pulley (Thanks Harold!) Picking up a solid 10 RWHP.. and noticeable gains from 5K to Redline. I wish it would have been 'cooler' to help 'equalize' these pulls of all my runs... the one issue... is it is getting hotter and hotter every day... we had swamp coolers, and fans... doing the best we could with what he had!

Peace,

Yeah. I would put on a few hard miles first. I am sure that OBD-II vehicles have adaptation. I would put some miles on it to help adjust the short and long term fuel trims before re-dyno'ing.

That's disappointing to hear. I guess I won't waste the $9/gal 100oct gas on my M3. In stark contrast, my 335i dyno'd 330whp on 91 oct, and 369whp on 100oct!!! That's nearly 40whp. Granted, I did hit the switch on my remote map switcher to access the race map. Sigh....I'm gonna miss that turbo boost.

Which line on the AFR graph corresponds with which pull?

The RED line is 'Pump 91 Octane' the ORANGE line is 'Race Fuel'... also the only reason why I think it made more TQ down low, look how it fattened it up a bit after the ECU Reset!

Once Air Fuel (up high) became the same as the 91 Octane run... notice... HP & TQ was negligible.
