Perhaps, I haven't heard both back to back and I'm no audiophile. Logic7 is base on Canada and EPS is the "upgrade..." but then again HK was the upgrade on the E46 and the standard audio was clearer, IMO (both sucked compared to EPS though). However, from what I read on the forums, EPS is much better than Logic7 on the E9x.

I'll probably share my thoughts when I pick up my car in a couple weeks... I ordered EPS.

oh ur near me... maybe we'll meet up when i get mines too

edit: since ESP is 1,900 (msrp) and they are adding it to ZPP/EPP and taking out leather 950 (msrp) the logical conclusion is that EPP will be around ~3000 (msrp)....

this is just another way for which bmw will force you to pay a bit more as 95% of ppl will want leather SIGHS

Only some very minor changes to the M3.

Thanks for the link, South.

ZSP Special Orders - Administrative fee for ordering special colours, interiors or equipment.
Prices for special orders will be quoted at wholesale prices only.

Does anyone think that the ZSP code will be offered in the US market? It seems like it could be useful to me.

Safarii - From what I can tell... anything that was built from September onwards will be MY2010.

okay, what is MY mean.... i still do not get it.

so is it possible for it to be out by the end of August because dealers sometimes get a car like 2 weeks before its supposed to be really out

I believe MY means Model Year.

What you are confused about, I think, is the fact that orders taken after a certain date will result in a MY2010 car but the first of the MY2010 cars will be delivered sometimes after that date.

I am by no means certain about _actual_ dates, but if you place an order towards the end of this month or more certainly in August, then when you finally get the car it will be a MY2010 car. But the date of arrival of that car may be late September, October or even November depending on where you are in the world and what your dealer is doing about the new model year car (or may be even how many MY09 your dealer has already) which is perhaps why you see some dealers get cars sooner than others.

IIRC, traditionally and nominally, a new model year actually begins around Oct/Nov but that depends on who the manufacturer is and the country in which the car is sold. Right-hand drivers normally get things later than the rest of the world, for example.

Anyway, the good thing about this MY2010 'problem' is that it will soon disappear because right now, the debate is on whether or not one should wait till August. The answer to this questions kindda answers itself in about a week or so. The real problem for me is the LCI (see earlier posts for what an LCI is) which will apparently "start" in March 2010. Now that's a heck of a wait... may be I'll go for a 2010 Saloon...

Rightly said... although I always wanted a sports car... which IMHO the coupe is just that... As long as the car is built from September (start construction in the month of September) then it will be an MY10 - I take delivery here in Australia anywhere from mid-November (likely to be late Nov/early December)

What will be in september will only be the MY 2010 model, but in march 2010 there will actually be the LCI model, MY 2010 LCI or maybe MY 2011 LCI. What will change for sure are the headlights and taillights in the new BMW style. It would be good if the new E92/E93 and so also the E90 M3 will get the new white angel-eyes. It may even happen that the M3 engine gets 450 hp to keep up with the coming 450 hp RS5. It may happen as it was with the M3 E36. The first model had a 3.0l I6 286 hp engine, and the LCI model got a 3.2l I6 321 hp engine. The best thing would be for it to get the race engine with 485 hp and 500 Nm. In march 2010, but it would be nice if allready in september, the E92/E93 (not M3) will get the BMW Performance parts, it means a new front bumper, a new side skirt, a new carbon difuser, a carbon trunk spoiler. What would be good for the E92/E93, let us say only M3 is for it to get a full leather package, and the headliner in Alcantara as in the M5/M6.

That being said..... I can't wait for my M3... should be AWESOME!
They did this with the 5-series, had a short 2007 model year and called the LCI's 2008's. I think the LCI will come out and be a 2011. Which means the 2010's will depreciate like mad.

Why would the length of the MY run have a pronounced effect on the resale value of the car in say 5 years? I get why it would drop as soon as the new MY is announced. Beyond that, though, it seems like that would require a pretty uninformed set of consumers, which I don't think describes M3 buyers.

Hyper - resale (after features/type of car/specs) is based on mileage and model (year of manufacture). Although it isn't going to make a huge difference between October and November - the reality is that perception does help for resale. This of course is IMHO.

Ask around. I too would be interested in what others thought.

Z...3: I just think that an early 2010 will be worth about the same in 2015 as an early 2011 will be in 2016, all other things equal. If there's an LCI that really is an improvement, cars that are built after that will be worth more, of course. But that has nothing to do with the length of the MY.

Hyper - agreed. Most important thing is our enjoyment of the car.
