another reason I don't watch the news. While it's important to be informed it's another thing to saturate your mind with hysteria.

This is the only news in the UK at the moment ...

My parents are supposed to fly to the USA from Heathrow this afternoon - don't know when they will get there now as although the flights are running there are huge delays due to increased security.

Judging by the stories the increased security is well worth it.

The interesting part is that the majority of those arrested are British born. Lots of stuff on the radio here at the moment from Muslims in America saying that British Muslims are less integrated than they are.

Things like Iraq and the situation in the Middle East add fuel to the fire, but this sort of thing is just crazy - I can't imagine how anyone could consider doing this ....

But ... it will continue to screw up relations between Muslims and the wider community ...

blah blah blah...if you fly, deal with it and let the airline security folks do their job. I am sure they can improve their security process but this is the best they can do at the moment. On the flip side, if another plane blows up due to terrorist, the same folks who complain about the long wait probably blast the security folks for not doing enough. So zip it up folks.

True! This is not a conventional war and we shall see how this plays out. I only see it as a beginning of a long conflict with the middle east. I hope I'm wrong!

Exactly! Just carry what you need and nothing more on the plane. Whatever is in your baggage will be fine.
