thinking of getting AA pulleys but...

Last week i had a edc, emission, transmission, and dsc malfunction and going into limp mode. I got a brand new idle valve in the end of it. my Question is if install AA pulleys and the same problem comes up again can they say they wont fix it because of the pulleys?

I personally don't think so. The dealership will always find a way to get out of a warranty, especially when you do mods on your car.

to void warranty they have to prove that part caused the problem. also dealerships get paid for warranty work, so most likely they won't care too much.

I took my car in for the same issue and I have AA pulleys and had no problems. They didnt even notice.

Your AA performance filter that is already installed is WAY more likely to get you in trouble regarding your warranty.

why do you say that? people always get intakes for their cars its just a filter.

Because the filter is in the path of the intake charge. If your MAF fails or some other sensor fails they could try and blame it on the non BMW air filter you have installed. If you are worried about warranty work being refused then just leave your car stock. Your specific question invoved the idle valve, and there is no way they could say that a crank pulley caused an idle valve to fail.

I'm pretty sure the S65 engine in our cars does not use a MAF sensor...

No MAF is present in our engines.

Yeah no MAF, lets say your MAP sensor fails or intake air temp sensor. The sensors used on this car aren't important, but anyone of them in the intake track that fail could be blamed on an aftermarket filter possibly, but heck I had a full K&N intake on my E46 M3 and my MAF failed and the dealer replaced it under warranty no questions asked.

Yup, and if you are paranoid just switch the oem pulley back in, it is a pretty easy job if you have the tools.
