KW-V3 or Bilstein PSS10 coilovers

OK, I think these are the best coilovers.

from what I have heard KW's are softer and less harsh compared to PSS10's

on the track, I am still waiting for stories.

can one shed some light?

I don't have experience with the PSS10s but the KW V3s are a great setup. They are very smooth for daily use and have a great range of adjustment. The V3s also have individual rebound and compression adjustment so they are very well suited for track applications if you need to stiffen the suspension.

Bilstein used to be the favored brand, not any more. KW has won.

Very true. Back in my E46 days, it was PSS9 or bust. I went with the PSS9s and was VERY happy with the result but I think KW has come out with a solid and well priced setup. I ultimately went with V2s for my 135 and Jon's 335.

This makes it really hard.

back in the days I had a KWv2 , at that time there was not V3 and I felt is was hard to adjust and the ride was very ruff with no rebound feel to it.

then I went to PSS9 then PSS10

now there are the V3's and no one for PSS10 is give thoughts. I am surprised.

You're on a predominantly US forum... there are NO PSS10's IN THE US!!!

So you're only hope for a response is someone from Europe, and I guess Asia since it seems like they're out already.
And for all the people voting for KW... how the hell can you vote when you have never tried the PSS10?

All of the marketing I've seen most BMW forms is for KW and how great they are...hence the popularity. The knock against the Bilstein PSSs on E46Fanatics is that they tend right a bit softer (hence, more body roll) and don't go as low as the KWs.

Apparently, now AST > all from what I've been reading.

Thanks for the input!! I did not realize that there where do PSS10 dealers in the states or they don't market the product as well as KW. That is a said thing to hear. Well since the only choice I have is using KW cause of my EDC set up.
I will give V3's a shot. Maybe I will end up liking them.

On my E46 ZHP I have PSS10's, and I have absolutely loved them. Very compliant ride in my opinion (even on setting #6), great drop, no squeaks/excess noise. I never track the car, but the handing is better than I expected in everyday use.

Just my $.02. Hope your search goes well.

So I guess you are going to use PSS10s again?

Actually I don't know yet, but I have a good idea.

While I have read great things about the KW systems and believe they would be a great match for my car, I really don't want to lose my EDC. However, everytime I state this fact I realize that I will likely rarely use the EDC function. Stupid, I know, but this does not stop the fact that I at least want the option.

I have currently ordered Eibachs for the car. However, I have started to hate the idea of hurting the stock setup with improper rebound/etc. just for the sake of a drop. The car will likely never see track time, but I don't want to do anything that would damage the car's original parts. Better to do it properly the first time.

At the moment the only thing keeping me from getting the KW's is the fact that I know Bilstein will be coming out with something for EDC cars very soon...

...that being said, I will likely order the KW's. I've realized that it is what will give me the best option for me and my car at this time. It will A) give me the drop I want, B) have a matched pair of shocks + springs, and C) have enough dampening adjustability to satisfy me. Then when the EDC-compatible Bilsteins come out I will likely get them and re-sell my low mileage KW's to a member of this board!

Hope this helps a little.

I totally hear what your saying.

I am actually planing on doing the same!!! I am ordered Eibach's but I mostly likely won't put them on for the same reasons.

I got a feeling the Bilsteins are coming soon --- the ones that actually work with EDC not cancel out the check engine light

The problem with AST is $$$. They are suppose to be badass. I think the base units are only single adjustable, so it's even more $$$ for double adjustable.

I don't think so. And that G-POwer kit is likely just a EDC-cancel/trick like the KW's.

Here's the product link: http://www.hpashop.com/product.sc?ca...1&productId=77

Here's some info from HP: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=257008

HP will also do KW's coils with Swift springs.
