Not to sound like a player or anything, but to put it in perspective I have two very high maintenance ladyfriends, and both (after giving me a lot of shit for the new exhaust's smell and sound) now have no issues riding around with me, in fact I think they like it even better! Its very enjoyable on the highway to actually be able to hear the car over the wind rushing past, and the added power you just cannot get even with HFCs.

The full RPi is a great deal, but so is just the front and mid-pipes. You could probably make a deal with Eloy at RPi if you pick it up and pay with cash. Either way good luck!

I orderd a Encore Innovation X-pipe, still have to install it when I get back from my deployment. EI advertises no CEL, it's got HFC & resinators for $1800 or so I paid. I hope it lives up to it's name with no CEL and some power gains. For the time being it'll be connected to the stock exhaust until I get either the Remus Race or something else, not sure yet. Anyone have any opinions on the EI x-pipe? If it works as it should, it'll be a tough call between that and the Fabspeed for the price I'd think.

To be emissions compliant you would need there X-pipe and high flow cats, $1698 total. By far the best deal out there. Plus Riss makes some quality parts.

The Riss Racing X-pipe is just like the Fabspeed X-pipe that deletes the stock 2ndary catalytic converters which are non OBD2 compliant anyways, they are not needed. Also deletes the resonators which will produce more sound.

He could probably work something out with them, since they are local (Santa Ana). He most likely would be the first vert with their x-pipe.

Makes sense, they are sourcing new HFC's that won't throw a code.

I have mine on for about 3 weeks now, no CEL. I paired it with Remus Sport and it's not quiet at all. I believe if you pair it with Race, it will be very loud.

Mine are old cats, as I bought mine used awhile ago. They still do not throw a code.

Really, I didn't think it would be that loud. Maybe you can post a clip? Is it just loud at WOT or all rpm range? Like cruise or city driving? Thanks,

There was a guy on the other forum who had an AA x-pipe with HFCs along with an Eisenmann Race and had to get rid of it after a week because it was waaay too loud (he was setting off car alarms 3 driveways down and had every surrounding neighbor complaining - not to mention it drove the owner himself crazy) and was signifigantly louder than any other exhaust out there (the guy was from Cali so he had tons of cars to make omparisons with). So any type of aftermarket front and mid-pipes with any kind of exhaust, expecially companies "Race" variants, is going to be loud.

Well shit, if it's gonna be that insane loud with a "Race" exhaust, I'll probebly just stay with the stock exhaust or someday down the road go with a "sport" of some kind. I think with the EI x-pipe and stock exhaust I should get some good power gains and it'll sound better. OP, what did you decide to go with?

I've had excellent results with the Encore Innovation/stock exhaust combo with a flash and pulley too. The car is keeping up with Modded M5's up to 130!

Don't forget with the Riss setup you will need an ECU flash in order to avoid a CEL!

With Remus Sport, I will not say it's insanely loud or very loud. I think it's good and I can live with it. No drone at all rpm except at 2k rpm, but the stock muffler will drone a bit at that rpm too. It's not loud during cruising. The car definitely pull harder after I installed the xpipe and the mufflers.

Agreed, EI or Fabspeed get my vote. Impressive victory bro over Niterider. I really thought his car would be untouchable given his dyno numbers (and full catless exhaust & custom Powerchip tune). Do you attribute your victory to the DCT tranny over his 6 speed, or something else? BTW....sorry I couldn't make it. I lost my phone Wed night and Verizon won't have my replacement until Monday .

Thanks Bro, DCT, I'm pretty sure is the reason, Niterider is a very cool cat as well and he made no excuses. Sard and I did a few runs too, he did very well, we were very close in the 1st one. The others I edged him out. He has the full Akropovic exhaust and I'm on the stock muffler, but I have the tune and pulley so I should be making more power. I'm pretty sure you would be right there as well. No worries Bro, I thought something came up, next time!

I truly appreciate all of you replying with your answers and suggestions. I think my confusion is slowly but surely going away. A couple of things are still unclear though.

I feel the best way for all/any of you to clear it up is for me to post what I want to avoid and then you recommend what set up will offer exactly that.

I have a Convertible and already have AA Tune-Pulley, Matt Schnell Filter and RPI Scoops

***I will stay stock exhaust for now.(I may get an axle back down the road)
***Keep my resonators to avoid or minimize drone
***Avoid gas fumes as much as possible
***Noticeable increase in power(Increase in Sound would be great)

Between Encore Innovations, Active Autowerke and Fabspeed, X-Pipe and HFC's, which will offer to keep my Resonators, avoid gas fumes, bolt on perfectly and offer the most performance increase?

I would consider Riss Racing, but it appears they lose the Resonators altogether from what I've read.

I appreciate you brothers educating me one last time.

<FYI> I drove my boy Greg's E92 with RPI Full Exhaust today. He had just put 100 Octane in it. HOLY FARRAGING SHITE! That exhaust is literally AMAZING! People look at you like, "WOW"...get out of the way.

I have a comparison type question:

Would an X-Pipe and HFC's on a stock exhaust produce similar gains as a Full Header back exhaust like the RPI Exhaust? I know it won't sound the same as the modded exhaust, but could you expect power increases similar to what RPI is making?(assuming both cars are already equally tuned)

I'd appreciate your answers.

$1698 for the Riss x-pipe and high flow cats is waaaaaay cheaper than anything else I have seen, including Fabspeed. Does anyone have one of these yet? I'm thinking of going down to Riss to ask if they can give me this setup but with the addition of resonators (since I may run this without primary cats, and it's my daily driver, and my wife and baby ride with me a lot).

What about the option of just replacing your secondary cats with straight pipes or resonators? That would cost around $200 compared to $2000.

probably closer to $400 at least where I live. But yea, it's way cheaper, but not as loud or as free flowing as HFC's and nicely bent pipe. Still a huge step better than stock.

I would wait for Challenge to release their X pipe next weeks with vids for a comparo.

I too am contemplating on just the X pipe but am waiting for all the options available.

Right but is that worth at least $1500 more? No one needs polished pipes, period. I'm confident a tuner will come out with an x-pipe with resonators that keeps the stock primary cats in place for less than $1200. Anything more is a joke and a rip off.
