What happened to the terror thread?

I haven't logged on in a few days. What happened to the thread on the planned terror attack in London?

I knew that picture was gonna get it censored! That sucks tho because we should be able to objectively discuss this real threat to the world. Just cuz someone posts an objectional post, they shouldn't lock the whole thread imho. (besides, i spent some time writing that long response of mine.)

lol. too bad for us interested in discussing about the threat. i originally started that thread to bring up the good news but some posters posted unnecessary posts. we can still discuss it here.

and please to anyone who's gonna post make it clean. there's a lot of ways to express an opinion. we dont have to do it in an offensive or disrespectful manner.

No mystery about it, I deleted them. One was an offensive picture (targeted towards Muslims (and not terrorists) in general) and the other was a response to the picture.

I am as aware of and sensitive to the terrorist threats and actions as much as anyone else. I live and work in NYC and have worked in the World Trade Center before they were destroyed. However, being frustrated/mad at a situation does not call for posting material that may be offensive to a group as a whole. If you guys want to post funny material depicting terrorists, fine. But, most of what I've had to remove from off-topic has been against Muslim/Islam in general.

Well there is no reason why we can't continue to discuss the terrorist incident in this thread from here on in. So long as no-one gets offensive about people because of their race or religion.

Our 'threat level' has been reduced from 'critical' to 'severe':

Moderate - an attack is possible but not likely
Substantial - strong possibility of an attack
Severe - an attack is highly likely
Critical - an attack is expected imminently

This is sort of interesting cause the reports are that the attack was foiled and that all involved have been arrested, but clearly there is still a thought that this could somehow go ahead anyway.

My sis, who is studying in London states that "about 1/3 of Londoners" believe that there was no real threat, but that the UK and US were part of a conspiracy to detract attention away from the war in Lebanon. Is this true?

I don't think that many people really believe this to be a conspiracy, but I think many have little faith in the ability of the police force and the government to get this sort of thing right.

However, people are half expecting the arrested people to be released and not prosecuted due to lack of evidence etc and that the police 'bungled' the somehow have got it wrong.

Millions protested, the governer of the BBC lost his job and Tony Blair had to give evidence over his 'dodgy dossier' and this guy lost his life (I personally think he was murdered):
