Scuffed the 18" OEM wheel - How to fix?

Hello,
I took off the wheels to clean the inside and I'll be damned I dropped one on the cement and it left a nice crater/scuff. Question is what is this wheel coated and painted with? Is it paint and clear coat or is it powder coated?
I want to sand it and re-clear coat it with ext. body shop clear coat and my spray gun, but I can't find any past threads where someone has done this. Any advise on how to fix this nick/crater in the rim? Very similar to curb rash, but it is just in the clear coat (or whatever it may be on the surface!).

Thanks! Here's a crappy pic from by Blackberry.

Hmmm, not much help yet. I'm too anxious i guess. Does anybody know the paint code or color, and if the 260M rim is clear coated or is it powder coated?

If I remember correctly, I think it's painted w/ clear coat. If it didn't destroy the clear, it can be polished/wet sanded down.

In my opinion by seeing the blury pic, I would have it wetsanded and polished by a detailer. Might not end up being PERFECT, but at least the rest of the wheel will have the factory finish on it, which is much better then if you have it sprayed again.

Do you think I can wet sand it myself and spray some more clear coat and have it blend nicely? I have the equipment (air brush & 2 part clear coat), but never really did it before. What the hell, if i mess it up it's only about $350 for a new rim!
