Can you get a better lease deal new or taking over pmts?

Hey everyone, I'm thinking of picking up an AW E90 sedan to get a new daily driver. I have a couple questions. Are there still great deals being given out on '08 models on the lots, or are those cars gone/deals expired? What are some of the best deals you guys have heard of on a loaded E90/E92?

I'm looking at a couple lease takeover deals as well since a shorter term is somewhat attractive to me as well as potentially lower payments. They are fully loaded AW/black cars with extended leather, Prem. sound, etc..:

-One has 1200 miles with 12k mi/yr and asking $3500 down with 32 months left. $795/mo
-The other has 11000 miles with 12k mi/yr and asking $2500 down with 28 months left. $696/mo

Are these at all attractive, or can I do better new? Are these guys reasonable for asking for something down, or should they be offering some kind of incentive to move these cars? It seems like they are underwater given the residuals on these cars are ~$35700-$36500 and the payments would value the cars at ~$58k.

Thanks a lot for your help.

You can't do better on a lease with the 09's.
The leases I have been seeing on them are 1000 a month and up.

If you can find a good 08 lease to take over that would be best. But it has to be lease that was signed before March 3rd which is when the best lease deals ended. There are no longer lease deals to be had on the leftover 08's. My brother-in-law went to the dealership last week to see what the lease payments would be on an 08 vert.

He got a reply of 1300 a month.

Best deals? I got my E93 vert at 599 a month including tax.

Good luck!

Thanks for the info. So it sounds like I should be looking to get an incentive if I want to take over either of those deals to lower pmt's into the 600 range?

I wouldn't say that. Mine is an exceptionally low monthly.
There were quite a few leases made in the 600-800 dollar range that are still quite good.

That number is meaningless without knowing the downpayment amount.

So add $100/mo or so, still a very nice deal. Only problem with an assumption is that you have to be willing to be flexible on colors and options, and you can pretty much count on the fact that the car has had the bejesus run out of it by the prior own, I mean, user

The best lease deals were in late '08 and early '09, which is pretty typical since this is when BMW gets hot to move the stale iron from the previous model year. This year was crazy with the bad economy and oversupply of M3s and 135s. Some dealers were doing invoice deals + factory cash + leases with inflated residuals and 000x money factors on those cars, and the folks that jumped in got incredible deals. I took the bait myself .

OP, if you can find a good assumption go for it, but have the car checked out carefully and get some feedback on the lease terms before you go running to come up with cash out of pocket. Folks expecting a significant amount of cash up front in a transfer are probably fooling themselves in this car market.

GL!
