oem part# 08 e92 m3 carbon fiber center console trim

Just ordered from Bavarian Auto what I thought was a e92 oem carbon fiber center console trim.

The part did not fit and was proprobably for a e92 base model not m3.
the piece did not have the cut out for the power and dsc button.

Do anyone know if bmw makes an oem carbon fiber replacement for the 2008 m3.

I know IND sells a piece but the cutouts look like it's for a 2009 to 2013.

The rear carbon fiber center console piece however fits fine and so do the trim pieces.

oem part# 08 e92 m3 carbon fiber center console trim?

Thanks in advance!

Hey
I don't think there's a part number for the CF center console because the only BMW made one is for the GTS. As far as I know iND which is a BMW GTS part and autotecknik which is aftermarket (not sure if that's spelled right) are the only CF center consoles

The IND unit is oeM 100% but fits 2009 and newer becuase it has the new I drive version cut out v. The 2008 oem is totally different.

Is the autocknik worth the money (fitment and quality cf v. Oem) and what how close does it match to stock weave?

Yes it's an OEM part but is a GTS part so since the GTS didn't exist before 2011 it won't be compatible with any differences in previous years so with that OEM is not an option for you. Autotecknik is the only other one I'm aware of and have not had any experience with the CF console. My only experience with them was my old CF steering wheel trim. Fitment was good but the weave was meh. It wasn't hard to see imperfections in the weave . Which once you notice them that's it. You'll be annoyed until you get rid of it. If I were you and dead set on a CF center console I'd ask iND if they would wrap a basic OEM one for your 08 in CF wrap and apply a gloss clear coat. That way I assume you save a lot of money, OEM fitment, and matches your CF parts

That sounds like a good option. I am not sure I can appreciate the cf wrap since I have always been set on oem and high quality parts. But I guess this is the only option or keeping it stock. I already changed to the oem kit cf for the trim pieces that includes everything but the center console .

You could also do the CIC conversion...then you'll be able to fit that BMW console

If youre doing CIC, go NBT. another option is to just buy the new idrive controller. they often pop up on the forum

I have the AutoTecknic unit...fitment and quality are great! Matches perfect to my OEM CF Trim.
