I wouldn't. They wouldn't have bought it back if there wasn't something to buy it back for. To each his own.

Don't believe the dealer's crap. Trust me..BMW doesn't just buy the car back unless there is something wrong with it. 49k for a lemon... LOL. Maybe for 30k tops.
Please do yourself a favor and DON'T buy this car. I bought mine brand new for 52k.

The buy-back might show up on carfax, check that first and see the reason

thanks for the input.
I will ask for the carfax. The title is not an A title. The dealer seems very interested. There are many used e92s around so I will probably avoid this car. I was thinking max$45,000 though. |

It is a pretty involved process to go through a lemon law. You need to show repeated attempts to fix and the problem has to be obvious. It is possible there is nothing wrong with the car, and the owner was really anal, but unless you can get it cheap, its probably not worth the headache. Might be interesting to get printouts of the service records, since they must exist for the repeat visits - not sure if its possible for you to get them.
Keep in mind that CARFAX does not update right away, so check to see when the car hit their lot. |

that is funny 1989baby
![]() This dealer has called twice today to convince me it is a great deal on a car that is fine. I did mention that it is weird that it cannot be certified. He made an offer of 48,500 from 49,900. I asked if the car could be "lemoned" again. He said BMW would stand by the vehicle if needed. Not specific answer in my opinion. good thing there are quite a few 08s out there. |

hmmm, I am leery of that answer. Try to see if they can print out the service record and go from there. But, if they didn't want to bother, then don't buy it.

More information today.
I emailed and asked if they would be able to produce all the service records. He responded saying that there can't be much of a history if it only has 2800 miles. I responded that I am not concerned about how many service visits exist, but rather want to know the details about the service and complaints. He responded and said he called his service guy and the car actually had the transmission replaced. (manual transmission) very interesting tactic. I don't care that it had service and was bought back, just want to know all the details. every car has a value. |

Recommend you get the VIN number, then call a trusted BMW CA and ask him/her to pull the service info for you to get the straight scoop

Just a heads up I can tell you first hand that BMW doesn't buy back a car without a huge amount of service. We had our 335i bought back after almost a year of having it in the shop. They only offered to buy it back after they agreed that they couldn't fix the issue.
