Annoying brake dust

Does anyone else here noticed that BMW makes pads that produces alot of dust? Its not a problem but just annoying when it comes to cleaning the wheels. I just had my M for a couple of weeks now and I must have clean my wheels at least 2x a week. I'm thinking of replacing the pads with aftermarket ones maybe after 3000 miles.

BMW brake pads have always produced A LOT of dust, M or non M, it doesn't matter. Just a part of BMW ownership is all, I recommend some kind of wheel sealant or wax after washing your M / wheels; this will make it so that the dust can't stick onto the wheels so easily.

After a few days my rims look black from all the brake dust.

I don't have a problem with brake dust...maybe all that time cleaning the wheels and applying poorboys wheel sealant actually paid off!

Try Porterfield R4S pads.

Best solution (and most expensive) I've seen for brake dust is ceramic brakes - had the factory optioned front ceramic brakes on my old RS4 and they were really good for brake dust. The rear wheels that had standard RS4 brakes always got dirtier much quicker...

If only there were BMW ceramic brake options....

I'm buying a full set of Akebono Euro Ceramic Pads to replace the OEM pads... the OEM brake dust is simply too much.

The pads on this car aren't nearly as bad as the stock pads that came with my S4. It could be that the factory 19" wheels are sort of gunmetal colored so I don't notice it as much but its still doesn't seem bad at all. When I did make the switch to ceramic pads on the S4, the dust was grey colored instead of black so you didn't notice it as much.

Its a losing battle. I'd just get some gunmetal rims. They'll look the same washed or covered in brake dust.
