Expected trade-in value...

What can expect to get for my car in a trade-in? I know dealers use auction pricing to determine trade-in value. But I wanna know that I'm not getting low balled.

It's an '08 E92 with 2500 miles and has the following:

Premium Pkg
Tech Pkg
Satellite
Extended Leather
Ipod/USB
19 inch wheels
Metallic Paint
PDC

thanks.

Well I don't have access to the Manheim numbers, but I know that some forum members have recently purchased leftover new well-optioned M3's for about ~50k. So judging by the fact that yours is used and dealers lowball you anyways, I wouldn't be surprised if they offered you high 30's to low 40's.

Depending on the in-service date, I'd say low to mid 40s. The DCT tends to add quite a bit of value as it seems less and less people know how or want to drive manual transmission cars. With DCT, I'd say mid-40s. You're going to get low-balled regardless on the car. It's dropping in price, and although there are some dealers holding their ground trying to maintain the resale value, the truth is you can get a new sedan or coupe 2008 (there are still many nicely equipped ones on lots) for around $50k.

Thanks! I guess I'll have to take the hit or just hold onto the car for awhile.

You could also cut out the middle-man dealership and save yourself a couple thousand dollars and still get the tax benefits of a trade-in. Here is how:
