M-DCT + Track

I understand there was an update for the MDCT but I haven't been following the treads enought to know if it addressed the downshift issue when threshold braking. Can anyone confirm if this has been fixed? Sorry as i'm sure this has already been answered. I have an E90 on order with MDCT that I plan on tracking a lot.

Yes, the software update issued in the fall of 2008 addressed the downshift issue. I've had 5 track days in my '08 DCT coupe and the transmission is flawless even when pushing the limits of late braking from a top of 5th gear straight at well over 140 mph and downshifting all the way to 2nd for the next turn. Awesome rev-matching in S6 mode! S5 and S4 work really well also. I wish I could heel-toe-downshift like that on a manual car.

For the record, my heel-toe skills are decent but I swear the DCT easily shaves off a few seconds simply because it becomes much easier to modulate the brakes and not over-brake upon corner entry, allowing more consistent speeds through the corner lap by lap, not to mention blazingly fast upshifts on the straights.

DCT works great on the track. Very happy with it. Rev matches better than any human can.

Excellent news! I am so excited to track my E90 M3 MDCT. I will be very sad when I have to part with my E46 M3 but hopefully the transition won't be so difficult when I get my E90 M3. ( I have to wait another 5 weeks for my E90 and my E46 is selling next week)
