Those Of you that Have an AA exhaust and got an x-pipe come in!

I have an AA exhaust right now and I really like the way it sounds with their x pipe but im afraid that if i do put on AA's x-pipe it will get too loud and have drone. Has anyone got there exhaust and then got the x-pipe after? Is their a really big difference in interior noise while cruising compared to just their exhaust alone? I like the sound of the AA by itself i just wish it was a bit louder outside and I want some more HP. I think an x-pipe with cat deletes and ECU tune will accomplish both of these goals. Let me know your opinions

Well I don't have exactly what you are speaking of, but I have remus race exhaust with a custom magnaflow x-pipe. All I can say is, DO IT! The car sounds amazing now and I feel like I gained quite a bit of power. I kept my primary cats but got rid of the resonator and secondary cats. There is drone at about 70-80mph on the highway, anywhere under that or above that it is pretty quiet. At full throttle the car absolutely SCREAMS now.

In my personal opinion, it was a bit too loud. The AA exhaust is a great system, but after putting the x-pipe, it felt like I was in the tunnel all the time.. lol I don't know if that's the way I should express myself but it was like that. The power gains tho, you will feel it after you put the x-pipe on, I guess it all comes down to No pain~~ NO GAin`!!! X-pipe will change the way ur exhaust sound right now, at least for me it did !! hope this helped~!

I unfortunately put on my AA X-Pipe and AA Exhaust at the same time so I never got to experience the AA Exhaust on it's own.

I personally love the sound and don't find it too loud but everyone has their own tastes and sound level limits. Its VERY loud when you floor it so I basically don't do that in residential and downtown areas and keep the WOT for industrial/highway . There is ZERO highway drone and in city driving I love opening my window to hear the exhaust sound bounce off buildings. It's loud but it doesnt set off alarms due to it not being that DRONE loud.

Thumbs up Well I can't tell you how its going to sound I just purchased AA X-pipes

I have Remus Race exhaust on my M3 and it is very loud at high RPM's I just purchased the AA X-pipes w/high flow cats secondary cat delete, AA pulley, AA ECU software, and RPI scoops. I know when this stuff get put on my M3 it will be really loud just the way I like it I know I will have drone at 70-80 mph but it's all good I can live with it. I will just roll my windows down and enjoy the exhaust music to bad I am currently deployed in Iraq I would take pics and make sound clips

I have the AA x-pipe with the OEM muffler. I can say that the car really starts to scream now after 4k rpm. I thought that by coupling the x-pipe with the oem muffler it would have not as aggresive note, boy was i wrong. I think if the car was my DD it would drive me nuts.

I will be posting up sound clips in a few more days.

I'll let you know in a week or two how I feel...it makes me nervouse to see some responses but each person has their own level of resonance, drone, loudness, etc...if we could compare it to a GruppeM off of a E46 m3 then it is too loud...hopefully it is not since it is on the way to my house....29th my AA system will be here...hoping to get it installed this coming weekend.

Yea i know what you mean.... The AA system by itself is a bit to quiet on the outside especially at high RPM's for my taste. But inside its perfect. just enough so you can hear it and nearly zero drone at highway cruising speeds.

Im just afraid with a catless x-pipe its going to drone like a SOB....

Trust me... ZERO highway drone at cruising speeds of 110kmph or more. Yes if you are in 6th gear at around 90KMPH then you are below 2200 rpm and in drone range. Get above 2200 or 2300 rpm and you have zero drone.
