Talking ****OFFICIAL MAY 3rd DRIVING MEET THREAD!!!****

as the title states DRIVING ///MEET...these cars are meant to be DRIVEN so no posing in a parking lot wandering around looking at other cars revving engines to hear exhaust notes...lets pick a destination & take a trek out there...

this is a group effort so post up some ideas of locations and lets make a decision...the date is MAY 3rd

in the other thread I used the example of Dinosaur BBQ in Syracuse http://www.dinosaurbarbque.com/syrIndex.php

also this is solely for ///M's

another option is to head out to SAG HARBOR and enjoy the Bay....

you mean WHERE TO? In the BearMTN thread we were posting about doing something like this...I'm leaving it open so others could chime in on a destination...remember this is a DRIVE!! not a Poser Meet

do you have any suggestions?

We should definitely do some place with a lot of twisties and minimal cops. I will have all my mods then so it will be a fun to test the car out. Also I have softball games sunday afternoons so I can do an early run around 9-10.

I am not sure yet if I can make it, but this sounds great.

What about driving up to Port Jervis and further?
Otherwise, the Hudson Valley can be nice (via Bear Mountain, of course).

Marc this is exactly the ride that Manny & I did last year...I'm thinking about something along those lines also b/c of the amount of twisties and scenic routes...

hopefully you can make it

How about heading down to watch the Grand-Am race at NJMP on May 3rd? The NJBMWCCA is hosting an infield BMW Corral on Saturday and Sunday, and you can order discounted tickets with the infield parking pass. See njbmwcca.org for details.

The roads down to Millville aren't the most exciting for a touring event, but Grand-Am races are always entertaining. NJMP is a pretty nice facility. Koni Challenge and Speed World Challenge will be racing on Saturday May 2nd. Rolex on Sunday the 3rd. The Corral will be both days, and you need to buy the 2 day pass to get the infield parking. (2 day is $54 with tax.) Even if yo just go on Sunday, its worth getting the 2 day pass with infield parking.

The Bimmerworld and Kinetic teams were there yesterday practicing. One of the Kinetic crew members told me they'll be running two E92 M3's in the Koni race.

Got a great run, with no cops. But, guess my idea will have to wait till my //M gets here, seeing as I only have a lowly 335i right now

Cheers,
