picked up an IS350
My dad was driving his ES300 and a drunk driver hit his rear driver side door. Luckily, he was not injured.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() He later picked this up! Surprisingly for someone in his mid-40s, but I can see myself driving something sporty at that age too... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The NA engine is definitely different for a change. ![]() (Lexus IS350) 306HP ~3500lbs Last edited by darkphantom; 03-30-2009 at 12:12 PM. |

Any reason why he didn't just get an E92? It would've been neat to have an E92 and E93 in the stable.

lol @ all the lexus haters...
get over the fact that there is another company out there that does what BMW doesn't do very well, that is, making reliable, luxurious, comfortable cars. |

the IS350 DOES NOT have paddle shifters, rather they are for gear limiting. I.e. when you see a number on the dash, that is what the transmission is limited to. So you can put it at, say 4, and it will shift normally, no matter if you press the +/- all the way up to 4. When I figured this out, I almost stopped driving the car! He got this for 30k drive out, with CPO 100k/7years warranty till 2013. E92 335i = much more, plus I'd be getting no nav/backup camera, all the little goodies... It is deceptively quick though....I popped it in 2nd, around 3.5-4k RPMs, stomped on it, and got thrown back into my seat! |

Beyond true. They werent taken very seriously when they arrived here in 1989. Now look at them. My Father is a die hard BMW guy and picked up a IS350 as well two months ago. He thinks its so sexy and dosent give a crap about 'ring times or 0 to 60mph, etc. I dont think 47 is that old.. ![]() He'll be back in a bimmer soon enough though. I dont like the brakes on his car though. Its not exactly confidence inspiring. I find myself going waay to fast b/c the car is super quiet as well.

you guys sure about the paddles thing?
I mean if you're at a stand still....hit the paddle till your max gear is at 6. then just drive like you would normally. It will shift by itself....try it out. |

i'm kinda surprised... a lot of hate and love....
i own a IS350 and love it, and i also own a e92 and love that.... but why so much hate? did lexus do something to you(guys that don't like lexus)? some people(i notice) on this forums for some reason have a passionate hate for lexus(or anything thats not bmw) why is that? both cars have there high points and low points....(any car brand in general really)
