19" owners in NYC, quick question for ya..
Hey guys,
For those of you who have 19" OEM rims and tires that live in NYC, have you guys experienced any trouble with blown tires or bent rims? The roads in my neighborhood in the Bronx are pretty good...lol..I have kinda made a mental road map to avoid some bad roads when my M comes in June; but I know some are just unavoidable....so was just curious as to how your 19"s are holding up with the lovely roads we have in NYC. Thanks guys, Mike

I'm not in NYC, but our roads here in Pittsburgh aren't that great. I haven't had any trouble until recently. I was washing the car yesterday, and noticed a scuff on the lip of the rim. Looks like very mild curb rash. But, I'm the only one that drives the car and I have not hit any curbs. I'm guessing it must have scuffed when I hit a pothole. I have no other explanation as to how it could have happened.

Not from NYC but...
already had front two tires replaced: 1. Bubble after hitting a pot hole. 2. Found a nail in the other when dealer checked the car as i was there for the first problem. Thank to my wheel & tire option i didnt pay anything.

The bronx is rough...but if you've driven lowered vehicles or vehicles with low profile tires I'm sure you'll be fine. Whether you have 17,18,19, or 20 a low profile tire is a low profile tire. I've daily driven 20's with 30 series profiles 2 years without a flat. Im sure you'll be fine.

Hey man, honestly I would keep it to a minimum on non-highways. Manhattan's not terrible, although you have to still be vigilante. I do not know about the Bronx or Queens, but Brooklyn and Staten Island are both pretty shotty, and I definitely have do a little route planning before I roll anywhere in either Borough, and I have only driven those roads on 18"s. Definitely going to eliminate non-essential driving when I drop it and put my 19"s back on (thank goodness for the DD).
