Talking M3 Why?

Hi guys, I have a 335 coupe for 2 years and I'm really happy with this car desing, comfort, power ... everything is there. But you see, I am unable to resist M3 when I see one. What are the reasons that should help me decide ... please no stupid answers.

The 335 is a great car, and I owned one for about a month before trading it for the M3. I'd have to say that in comparison the M3 is a much more satisfying car to drive overall.

Agree, silly question......go drive one and see if it works for you. Your on an M3 forum!!! What choice do you think we made. I expect anyone who can afford an M3 could have saved money and got a 335. But for some odd unexplained reason went for the M3. If you can't figure it out on your own, I/We can't help you. No disrespect, but think about it......Steve

Dude,

I traded my 335 coupe in back in February, no regrets on getting my M. Had the same questions of is it worth it, trust me it is. I dropped my wife's X3 off for service last week, and they just got done prepping my 335i for the certified pre owned program, next to my M, it looked like a turd.....

I had a 335i Coupe for almost three years. I had that one because the E9X M3 was not available yet. Now that I have traded up, there is absolutely no remorse. Zero. None. The M3 takes driving to an entirely new level. I had a 6sp in the 335, and got the DCT in the M which fits the new V8 perfectly. Also having the tech package with M drive makes the experience that much better. The ability to customize the driving experience from one curve to the next makes the car constantly evolving and depending on how hard you drive, it can help you become more comfortable with the reasoned insanity of the M. While the 335 is a great car especially for the value, the M3 will make you forget it and you will never look back.

Either you "need it" or not. You can go to the BMW site and lay them out side-by-side with the equipment that you like.

We're not here to diss the 335, which is a great car, suited to more people than the M3. The M3 is rawer, noisier, but more fun to drive for many of us. It's a complete high performance car that you can take to the track as is.

Well, aside from the big price difference, they are basically the same car. Except for the 70% that's not a 335

Don't look for justification if you can afford it. It's more expensive for all the right reasons.

I say you need to drive an M3 with all the settings set for the high performance mode.
Then take the car someplace where you can truly experience the M3 in souped up, super sporty, wum diddly mode.
Or >> Because when you have the need, the need for speed >> the M3 will >> be there for you.

go out and test drive it.....

I guarantee you will have a grin from ear to ear....the M3 is a truly unique and special car.....its rarer as well....at least in my neck of the woods.

The 335 is a fantastic car....but the M3 is in a different league; has been praised since its debut....and always has been "the car to beat. Go for it...you will never look back!!

Keep the 335, you can't handle the M3.

The M3 may look similar but that where it ends. I loved my 2007 335 but this is a Ferrari by comparison... well almost. After the first thorough test drive you will agree it’s a whole different car.

i drove a 335 before buying my M3. The 335 has great torque and is a great car, but one thing stood out to me, AND NOT JUST A LITTLE:

Every part that makes up the M3 is more securely fitted - including the dash mounts, seats, door trim, etc. Every cabin part felt far more solid and made a nice thud over road bumps.

To this day I still experience no squeaks or rattles. Just solid - and our roads in Colorado SUCK.

You can tell the car was put together in the M building
