Too far?

I've only had my 08 E92 M3 a month now but I'm starting to think my love for it is getting out of hand (if is there such a thing?).

So I went to order this online specifically for use with the car and nothing else and apparently if you order online they have free engraving and here's what I've decided to do. Have I gone too far?

If not and you agree with me I'm open to other suggestions, I haven't ordered it just yet. I thought "BMW, E92 M3" but since I have a lease I'll probably still have the ipod long after the car, but then again maybe not.

You could put the last 5 of your VIN on the engraving to personalize it to that car.

I think that's pretty awesome, especially if you need to get an ipod. Now buying a new ipod just for that then I'm not sure if that's cool.

It's only going to be in the car, why would I get a Touch? (I'm sure I'll get flak for this) but I already have an iPhone, I just don't want to keep attaching/unattaching it everytime I get in and out of the car. Plus the all black iPod Nano would make it match the interior better, instead of the silver/chrome back of an iPod Touch

Most definitely not. The Nanos and shuffles have a flash drive that flakes after about a year. We have 4 active users in the house and I am constantly replacing them. Resets are no problem, but total lock and battery loss are annoying.

The engraving is not going too far. But your effusive prose leads me to advise you to procure a girlfriend. Or a mistress.

trade you my touch for your engraved.. put my vin # on it..!! haha (kidding too)

- its pointless that i leave my touch in my the car at all times... havent seen it in almost a yr.. i could just as easily have a usb drive doin the same thing..

That's exactly why I'm getting a nano, cause I've tried a few flash drives and they were very unrelible. They would just randomly stop and switch to radio, or they would keep "shuffling" the same 30 songs over and over again out of the 500 some I put on the flash drive! Plus there was usually a delay when I'd hit next track.

Ok I finally ordered! Actually I bought one at Best Buy cause I couldn't wait but after a day I decided to return that one and order one off the Apple website for the free engraving.

So here it is! Engraving is a little smaller than I thought it would be, I might have put my VIN and E92 on it had I realized but I still like it. Maybe a small roundel sticker over the Apple logo or something

You'll notice in the first picture that YES I do have about 14 pictures of my car on the iPod (which it scrolls thru if you highlight Photos), which is kind of ironic since this iPod will only stay in the car. (or sad depending on how you look at it)

That's pretty cool. It's funny because I bought a black nano as well specifically to stay in my car and it loads so much faster on idrive etc etc due to flash drive.
I wish I would have ordered and engraved something. It's a cool novelty thing
