picked up my car on Saturday...

I picked up my new ride Saturday (I ordered in mid January and was kinda shocked at how quickly it arrived). Anyway, I put about 100 miles on the car on Saturday, but the weather on LI turned to s**t Sunday and Monday so I've only been able to RTFM since.

I wanted to share some initial thoughts but hesitated to post without pictures. Today was sunny but cold so I rolled her out for a few (not-so-good) pictures...

I haven't driven the car either long or hard (that's what she said ) so I don't have much to add yet on driveability. This is my 4th M-car so I'm confident it'll exceed my expectations. Some initial observations:

18" OEM wheels - MUCH darker than I expected and are almost a match for the Space Gray... Check the pic but I'm not sure if I'm feelin' the love...

iDrive - easy to use and intuitive. I'm impressed with the quality of the graphics and overall interface; this was a pleasant surprise.

Fox Red - For anyone on the fence about FR - just do it. This color isn't like any of the pictures I've seen - none of them do it justice. It's more like a brick color than anything else - not orange like the one pic or red like the other (both taken like 5 seconds apart). It's a REALLY nice color and makes the car very distinctive.

Extended leather - I'm totally happy with the extra $$ I spent on this. Getting the extended ties the center console and the dash into the rest of the car and totally satisfies my long time desire to have a red leather interior

Anyway, as I get some time behind the wheel I'll have more to share. It's supposed to rain here on Saturday but Sunday looks like it'll be nice...

Looks awesome! So you ordered NAV but no EDC? I have 18's and no EDC and have been pretty happy with the ride and handling.
