Sweet! On the other hand, just listen to how wonderful that RS4 stock exhaust sounds.

C'mon! Totally different cars - the 911 GT3 and M3. Around a track, the GT3 would spank the M3. Both cars are better than these type of tests show.

I actually think its pretty dissapointing on how bad the M3 spanks the RS4, a car with more power and torque.

That was a Mk I 996 GT3, from 1999. Rated 360hp.

You wouldn't want to try that vs a 996 GT3 Mk II (the one they sold in the USA) or a 997 GT3.

respost but nice.

A GT3 997(mk1, 415BHP, no DFI) runs from the M3 more than the M3 runs from the RS4 in this vid.
There is a vid at m5board. The 997 GT3( also rather keeps up (okay about 50 meters) with the RS6 biturbo 580hp(same M5board).

997GT3 there is only one substitute: 430 Scuderia.

The standing start near the end of the video explains the advantage AWD has over RWD. Admittedly the M3 didn't get the best of starts and had a bit too much wheelspin in 2nd gear but this is real life and launching a 420hp RWD car isn't easy in the heat of the moment. It looks like the M3 took all of 4rd gear and a fair bit of 5th gear before it got on terms with the RS4 again, after this it walked away but up to about 135~140mph the M3 was play catchup.

It's the reason I will never tackle an RS4 or similar AWD car at the traffic lights, the shame of defeat would be too hard to bear.

Why not show the one of the RS6 spanking the two M5s, one of which according to the video was tuned. RH, don't turn this thread into a DI debate as well, one is enough for any forum to handle.

Yea Audi's engines/exhaust are tuned really well as far as the sound. I've mentioned this before but my roommate drives an '06 S4...has a really nice low rumble but it's not "garish" at all. We "raced" (I didn't really race ha....'97 i30 vs. 06 S4...what a race huh?) the other night coming back from IHOP and I really got to hear it in the upper rev ranges for the first time (he doesn't really ever drive it hard.....:-() Sick!!

Sorry for OT, but the R8 V10 is a great car but I still have to get used to the exterior(profile and that coloured plate behind the door....)

That R8 has got to be one of the most beautifully designed and engineered supercars today!

Sure, but none of those are cars I could drive on a daily basis. The GT2 is the ultimate for me (not that I can afford one) for track, street, daily use. Caution to the inexperienced drivers though. It's an unforgiving car.

Come to think of it, even if I could afford it, I'd never get an exotic like an any Ferrari, Lambo, etc. Porsche has the right balance between practicality and supercar performance. No other car manufacturer comes close IMO. GT2 is the ultimate to me. Sadly, I'll get as far as a Cayman S/C2S in my lifetime (unless I hit the lottery)!

A few years ago at the Ring I've been talking to a RUF mechanic driving his bosse's RT 12(Alois Ruf the baby blue one). That's MY favourite in the 'Porsche'stable. Stefan Roser(the RUF CTR yellowbird sideways at the Ring guy) drove it around the Ring, sideways as usual. It's SO fast and SO cute 650BHP and less than 1400kgs, rwd.

This exact car, and at 2min23 you see the mechanic I was having a chat with at the Parkplatz, nice guy, nice job
