iDrive rebooting

Do any of you is having or had this problem? My car is only a couple of months old.

I took the car to the dealer and they told me that the CIC needs to be replaced.

Good thing is under warranty, because I would hate to pay $2,500.

Mine just restarted itself on a road trip to the beach. Right around the 500 mile mark on the odometer. It came back up quickly, but I hope that doesn't mean bigger problems down the road.
