I know the actual pronunciation is Hi-un-die. I don't know about elsewhere but when they arrived in America back in the 90's they decided to change the pronunciation to Hun-day here. The other way was just supposedly too confusing for us Yanks ![]() |

I believe it's a lot closer to that pronunciation than the simple 2 syllable word they gave us Yanks to work with. In America's case maybe it wasn't a bad idea to make it simpler too. Some names such as Porsche will ever be the victim of debate. That reminds me how I've never even tried to pronounce Bayerische Motoren Werke

It is Hi-un-die. Wish they didn't change their name because a few Americans couldn't pronounce it (me included).
