Not bad for a sedan at all, only a second off a new Z06. Why only 295 torque though? Even the 135i makes more than that. I would like to see it up around 325 lb-ft at least. That is where I think it loses its steam in the 1/4 mile. 4.1 0-60 should be good for a low 12 or better. Must be the low torque numbers. Still impressive though.

You can't have it all with that displacement.

It uses revs to make its HP, and must therefore give up some of the midrange power.

As much as I like the M3 sedan, if I had to choose between the two (both with DCT) I'd go with the C63.

Tuners are getting these engines to 500hp fairly easy and what's better than a 500hp C class?

Have you seen the Top Gear review of the M3 vs Audi RS4 vs C63?

LOL, Even with more power the M3 (Manual Box) seems to be the one to get (in my opinion) even although the C63 has more style design wise.

In general though i think Mercedes comes with more but as usual the price is more

Haha, I like the C63 too ''Tuned 1.'' Too bad the damn car hates to turn. I watched the Fifth Gear video of it against the E92 and was very dissappointed. The M was like a scalpel. The C was like butchers knife.

Trust me, I appreciate the handling aspect of both the M3 & Rs4, however, for straight line highway driving the AMG's are king. If you notice, I live in the flat lands of Illinois and yes the 's' is silent for all you outsiders.

Believe me, if I had some of the canyon runs and other awesome terrains in my backyard like others do, my decision would be very different.

Sure you can. American sports cars make plenty of torque to go with the HP.

How fast does the c63 does 0-60 now, and I wonder how much faster it can go assuming it can lay down 500hp worth of power. This is utterly insane a production compact car can have so much power with simple tunes.

I'll take the C63 when I'm 80 live in FL and forgot how to drive through a corner. C63 got hp that's about it and even with 500 hp the M3(stock) will spank it on a race track. if you enjoy driving, BMW all the way if you want a status symbol that will cruse down the highway at high speed buy the merc or a caddy to me there about the same.

"C63 will sticker from $53,800 — the same base price as the BMW M3 sedan."

I'm not a big fan of MB, but the new C63 AMG is a serious threat to the M3.

Not to mention 540hp is a chip, exhaust, and intake away.

"Did we mention it's loud? Well, not cruising at 70 mph—there it was the quietest of the three. But mash the gas, and the car behind you will get an earful of loud, even at speeds above 100 mph. And be sure to downshift for some glorious gurgling-and-popping engine braking."

Man, I want one!
