What do you guys think? It's basically a glossy near-black color. PS'd by me. Original by Buschy.

Anyone know how much painting 4 wheels would cost?

I've priced powder coating and it's anywhere from $60-$100/wheel, I would imagine painting would be close.

Got quote from Wheels America in Houston @ $129 per wheel.
The only thing is that it's regular paint (instead of powder coat). You guys think it's going to be ok?

Powder coat will last longer, especially with the sand pitting that you'd get from Houston traffic.

Did some "googling", realized that Wheels America have some pretty bad history...
However, I found a shop called SABS, which apparently is recommended by several forums, Honda, IS, Bavarianspeed, etc. They do powdercoating and also offer FREE mounting and balancing. Gonna go check it out soon.

My local shop is going to do this for me with sanding, paint and finish for $100 / wheel. My E92 is SSII so I hope it comes out looking good. Anyone seen a pic of OEM 19"s blacked out on SSII?
I searched around but couldn't find one. |

Got my wheels done... not as perfect of a job as I had hoped but can't do anything right now. Will post some pictures later.
I was surprized that despite good reviews, SABS wasn't what I expected. They pay absolutely no attention to details (the installer even taped my M sticker upsidedown), and really don't know how to communicate with customers. What frustrates me most is that as a professional wheel shop, they don't even have a touchless tire mounting machine... they still use the old fashioned jaw clamps and levers that creates dents and scratches on wheels... Don't get me wrong, these are hard working people... I went to pick up my wheels at 8pm and they were still there... though it's sad that with just some slight improvements they can be so much more... so much better...
