Does the CD player play MP3?

I tried this morning and nothing, but wanted to check here to make sure. I had songs in folders, if that makes any difference.

It sucks not having the USB port on the car and not being able to retrofit it easily.

not trying to be a smart ass or something but if you just dragged and dropped the songs in a cd folder and ejected it, it won't work you have to use a program like a windows media player or nero to burn the mp3 onto the cd and then if you do that properly it will play 100% because all of my cd's are mp3s.

In-dash player is MP3 capable.

Thanks for the info. So drag/drop won't work, but if I rip to the CD with Media Player in MP3 format, it will will work?

It's MP3 capable, provided you burn the MP3 CD properly.

Hi,

YES it works with MP3 (you drive the e9x M3?!).
According to BMW you should use the "Frauenhofer Decoder" with a Datacompression between 128 - 320 kb/s. ("Cdex" might also work)
You should burn them in "track-at-once" and not "disc-at-once".

or simply check this one: Here are all answers

Thanks for the kinda info. It's sad I had to go to the E90 site to get any coherent info.
