The altitude is only about 1400 ft. The peaks in the background are 3,000.

bYep, not too far from Grandfather Mountain. Where the eagles soar and the M3 v8 roars. The S-turn are rediculous. There's no thrill like surviving 5 miles of one turn after another without a guard rail in sight and squeeling tires.
