Buttonwillow Action 01.08.12 Caution - Track Content!

I want to share some pictures taken at Buttonwillow Open Test day on 01/08/2012. Turnout was awesome! They were running configuration 13 CW. I was testing my new toy AiM Solo GPS lap timer - what a great product! It was a great joy to see my lap time improving session after session, and despite me doing CW for the first time and my second track event ever (I was totally lost during the first 2 sessions

), I was able to consistently run 2:12-2:14 on the 4th and last session of the day in my 98% stock M3!

Action on the track was awesome too. People were going off the track and some in a pretty spectacular way.

I went off twice myself on the first two sessions, both times in Sunset corner. Good thing dirt is nicely compacted in that part.

I'll post video after the next weekend.

Looks awesome! Are you able to understand why there were so many off track situations? Im trying to learn from these situations.

Not sure about other people's situations, but in my case I went off twice in the same corner because I was trying to go faster than I could not knowing this configuration. I told myself to slow the f down, and after that I got so much faster lap after lap without being stupid and going off the track!

Also.. someone was having fun with painters tape. Wow. That is.. excessive. Any word from the 135i owner? I used to absolutely hate that car at the track. It would overheat on me after a couple laps on hot days. Wonder if that owner had similar issues.
