Anyone get Xbox 360 ring of death

after one year of having an xbox 360 I have no complaints except for the loud fan noise which is usually covered up by turning up the volume. Anyways I didn't think I would get this because I got the newer version with HDMI output. Well I got it anyways now I am really close to switching to a PS3 except that I enjoy the 360 contr

oller a lot better. What do you think?

It happens. No reason to change to a different console. My ps3 also had a hardware problem that led to my sending it twice in a row. They are complex machines. Complex machines break.

Call em up and send it back - I believe there is a 3 year warranty on the red ring of death. It only takes a week or so to flip it back to you. As far as switching - meh. Lots of titles come out for one or the other so it's better to have both

What ever you do don't open it. A friend opened it up and tried to mess with it himself. There not meant to be opened, the location where they put some screw on the inside are impossible to reach lol.

But ya send it back.

just called xbox spent an hour arguing with them because I am two weeks out of my warranty. Three year warranty for three red flashing lights and one year for one flashing red light. They said it would be 99$ for repair and I said hell no and eventually they gave me 50% discount on the repair price. I was tired of arguing so I took that. BOo

Interesting, I got my in May of 2006 (actually win riffle on one of Microsoft conference

) and when I enter my XBox N# on Microsoft web site they state that my warranty expired and I have to pay $99 to fixed.
