Question Cold weather pkg in Sth Central TX?

I'm down to choosing specs, which is fun , and am wondering what owners think of cold weather pkg in Austin - New Braunfels - San Antonio region.

It can get down to 30s here, that being said it's mainly too warm for bum burners for most of the year (I am getting the sun shade!)

Still, it can rain heavily and the this option also has the headlight washers.

Appreciate any thoughts you have if you chose this pkg.

I would certainly recommend that you skip it. I had it on my 335i...the headlight washers were useful in heavy snow or in weather where sleet or ice was covering the headlights, but otherwise they were a pain because it was always spraying the hood when I just wanted to spray my windshield (I figured out later that if you have the headlights off it doesn't spray them...) Regardless, if 30s is as cold as it gets, it would be pointless. Just my .02 Have fun picking those options!

skip the cold weather package, but add heated seats.

I have the sunshade and cold weather package. Wife and I love the heated seats, those sunny winter days are nice with the roof or windows open and seats on simmer. Don't like the headlight washer, wish I could turn that function off, maybe disconnect the pump. Also great those first minutes in the car in on cold mornings.

The sunshade is great for kids, I have 30% ceramic tint, combined with shades I don't need anything darker even in Austin. It's also just cool to have and gives you another button on the dash, that's gotta be worth something. s

Thanks all: think I will select the seats. @consolidated: agree, nice to have the heated seats on a nice Jan day on a drive w/ the roof open, say to Gruene

My wife's 5er has the heated seats (not the 'washers) and it can be nice to be toasty at this time of year, through to Feb.

Well, back on to bmwusa to fiddle w/ the configurator!
