my dealer installed a emblem w/ there logo on it.....my procedure was this....
Sprayed badge w/ water then took dental floss and ran it through the back and it came right off, I had a hair dryer ready if it didn't work to heat up the badge and melt the glue but it wasn't needed in this case but for the ///M3 emblem you may need it, now if you have a little glue residue left over just wipe done w/ a digreaser or in my case Simple Green. I'm 100% sure you get it off w/ little effort so don't put too much elbow grease into also becareful not to let it drop and chip your paint HTH you need to put the black and white emblem on your car to complete your look

Just get a nice long piece of a plastic box strap (like these http://www.saferwholesale.com/v/vspf...by_outside.jpg) Wrap it around your hands for a good grip.
Slide it behind the emblem and PULL! It takes some effort, but that's how my techs do it. Very easy and its a plastic strap, so guaranteed not to damage the paint. |

Another method for removal is to use a plastic bondo spreader or something similar. One customer of mine used his wife’s teflon spatula and it worked but she wasn’t very happy that her kitchen utensil was in the garage. If you put tape around the emblem to further insure that the paint does not get damaged it is fairly simple to pry the emblem off. In the event that there is an adhesive securing the emblem to the car it is nice to have some rubbing compound/polish available to clean the area.

I got some painter's masking tape and put one piece along the bottom and one piece on each side of the existing ///M3 logo before I removed it. Once removed, I just used the tape to line up the new one.
