Are you sure those will stay on?

Parts of the paint on my front calipers melted and then cracked during the last track day...

2.5 by 0.54 inches, metallic silver, from http://www.xenonmods.com/

I hope they'll last, and certainly don't intend tracking my M,... spent far too much money on the M3 to take a risk like that

If they turn bad, and start to crack / peel, then they come with instructions for removal.

The paint should NOT crack at all, as I went to the Ring with my E60 M5 lap after lap continously for 3 laps (talking about the most heaviest braking for 3 x 172 corners, 3 x 84 right-handers and 3 x 88 left, and it was still ok). You should take it back to the dealer

For what it's worth, the Ring is not nearly as demanding on brakes as many of the smaller and tighter tracks found elsewhere. The Ring has longer straights that allow for more brake cooling and heat won't build-up as much. Even though you ultimately brake from higher terminal speeds from the longer straights, the fact that they get better cooling because they're longer straights ends up to be more forgiving for the brakes overall. Repeated pounding on the brakes between shorter distances even from lower speeds is far more punishing in terms of heat build-up.

Well, it did.

I was on a low-speed short track so there is not much high speed driving for things to cool down.

I doubt that they will give me new calipers because the paint cracked. They might offer to repaint it maybe, but it's not a big deal.

Not try to disrepect; very wrong which I have found out. Thats the only track where my brakes managed to fade as opposed to some of the more challenging tracks in the UK e.g. three sisters or bedford..all I saying is that you should get your dealer to check it out!

I doubt these would work on a car that gets any track use. They'll probably be ok for street use though.

True. Maybe I should get a pair to cover the cracked paint on my calipers.

Decals

I had some decals on my E46 headrests. Sounds tacky, but I thought they looked pretty good, and they lasted fine for years. Doesn't look like they have quite the right size for our headrests, though (2.25 x 0.75).

Those look really good. Did you have to paint the calipers or do they come painted these days?
