Leaves in the Airbox
A heads up for everybody who lives where the leaves fall off the trees.I have noticed for the last couple of weeks that at speed there have been leaf stems sticking up through the drivers side vent on my car.They would disappear at slow speeds so I would always forget about once the car was parked.On Saturday I finaly decided to investigate and pull the airbox lid off.The filter was about 50% covered with leaves and lots of debris in the bottom of the airbox.
I had a good look at the design and you can see right out to the front through the lower intake and with no screen it makes me wonder how much problem these cars will have in the winter with the filter being plugged from snow dust.I have had that problem in the past with my trucks but as my car is being parked in the next week,at least I do not have to worry about it this winter. |

Oooo should have taken some pics. I bet you could install a mesh fence halfway in the intake to prevent the leaves from making it all the way up. Snow dust ... hmm not so sure about that one.

+1!!! I had a huge maple leaf exposed through my driver side vent i was like ZOMGWTF ahahha it was funny.

Leaves stuck in the intake here and there should create nice sound effects rattling around, giving you a sense of additional power. The cheapest mod you can have!
I'll the intake cover out this weekend to see what I've accumulated...
