Thinking about doing this....

What do u guys think? Also, if anyone can photoshop it better would be great, but overall, u think I should? or leave it stock? Mind u, i will be etting new wheels in the spring, and reason y i wanna do this is so that i can go with a different theme with my new wheels.

Do what suits your tastes.

I will say though that if you plan on selling the wheels (to offset the cost of aftermarket wheels) you'll have a better chance of selling them in original condition.

Make them totally black without the stripe. I saw another post on here a few months ago someone who powder coated their 19s black and it was really cool looking. Looks a bit too much like a race car to me with black wheels. But it's def cool.

I like the black OEM 19s but I would skip the stripe.

wow.. this is really weird but I was just thinking of doing the exact same thing 3 hours ago and I click on this thread and somebody has photoshopped it as wel..

Any experience with painting/powder coating the wheels black? I am probably gonna skip the white pinstripe first and go ahead with the black wheels.. afterall, it is always easier to add on the pinstripe rather than removing there after.

Any suggestions on how to do this? Powder coating or painting? Matte black or gloss black?

Sorry for thread jacking but i'm sure these infos would be useful as well for thread starter.

Go for it, i will be for sure doing the same thing, just trying to find a good paint shop that wont mess it up. I'm going with Matt black and Red pin-stripe. It looks good on the AW...

I like it with the stripe. Looks nice.

Any thoughts on making the OEM 19" wheels gunmetal on a SSII car?

I would prefer Gunmetal without the TA ring.

Powdercoating is the way to go. Painting is much weaker then powdercoating which u may encounter chipping and flaking of the paint if not powdercoated. Plus these will b my winter wheels, and since winters can get pretty harsh here in NYC i need the strongest possible method. I am goin with a semi gloss. Its in between gloss and flat. Seen the color today and looks sick. Im also goin with the pinstripe, just the pinstripe will be a lot thinner then what the picture shows. Its just a thin line around the edge of the wheel.

Did it on my SG M3 and i love it!!

It's not black but dark grey....

Wheels have been sanded, gritted, and painted in the oven twice.

Paint is hard and not lung as it is when you paint without the complete process....

Looks pretty good, IMO. As others have said, leave them stock if you are selling them. Stripe or not, both good.
