Best brand for H8 angel eye upgrade

Since PIAA doent make a H8 bulb, who makes the best bulb? I think I am leaning towards the 8500k bulb.

I don't think we'll see a proper Angel Eye replacement for quite some time. All the current ones suck, including the Thunders (sorry guys, they do). Duke Dynamics was the best bet but they have since decided not to put it to market.

I'll respectfully disagree. I'm pretty picky and like my Thunders quite well. They are not perfectly color matched but are much better and are more pure white than the yellowish OEM bulbs. They are priced reasonably and are definitely better than stock. In my book this makes them a no brainer upgrade. Cheers.

We have been happy with the Xenesis Bulbs which are a strict pure white. If you do not want the blue output, then these will be the way to go for a more xenon white effect.

Problem with the thunders is that they wash out badly during the day. That's what I meant to say.

Hmmm, do you actually have them? I'll disagree on this point as well. I generally don't like DRL but thought they looked so cool on the M3 I leave them on. My Thunders are clearly visible in the daytime even in bright sunlight.

Yes, I had them, I tried the 7500k and it was really bad. The 8500k I did not try because I was disappointed so I sold that set to another member. Maybe it is fine for you guys but I'm generally very picky.

I got them on Saturday, and it was cloudy when I put them on outside. They are way too dim. Factory gold ones are way brighter and just a lot more intimidating so I put the stock ones back on.

I suppose I could be comparing the before/after through rose colored glasses. So I wouldn't commit to saying the Thunders are as bright as stock. However I will stand by my statement that they are definitely bright enough in the bright San Diego sun. ihyln: I'm awfully picky too and I still like em. So much better color matching.

yeah, the GP 8500s are bright enough for me too. i wont deny that the stock yellows are brighter - they are. but stock yellow angel eyes just don't look good imho. to each their own though. some peeps like the stock yellows better and that's fine too.

I noticed that all the pics posted had DRL's on. When I put mine on and looked, I just put the parking lights on. Is DRL mode brighter than parking light mode?

Yes. The rings dim when you turn the lights on.
