I smell Burning!

I was racing a yellow 07 Corvette yesterday from rest @ a stop light. Happy to report it was an M3 Victory. Really pushed it hard! Up to 6-7K RPM in first, second and third. Suddenly i briefly smelled a burning coming through the air-conditioning vents. I am assuming it was tire but was concerned it could be engine. Any ideas???? Car is fine now, no odd engine noises or anything abnormal.

That's why they call it "smoking" the competition.

I wouldn't worry, it happens. Is this the first time you've taken it up 7K rpm? You should really bring it up to at least 8K before shifting. You are past break-in, aren't you?

I've been assimilated. 6MT/ZPP/18"/PS extended.
