Hey zacbol, I am in Southeast Michigan myself (wish I could move sometimes though ).

I agree with your assessment for the most part. The only semi-expensive sports cars I see on a regular basis are Corvettes, including quite a few Z06s too. I think most are GM employees or friends and relatives thereof who get them for really cheap. There's also some Jaguar XK's. Two in my neighborhood in fact. Vipers are probably the next most common but are still pretty rare. Again, I think these two are probably Ford and Chrysler employees.

I will also see a Porsche 996 or 997 once and a while and I've seen a couple Aston Vantages around too. But these are rare sitings - maybe only one every month or two.

I see all sorts of fancy cars all the time. Especially between Memorial Day and Labor Day. But I guess that's got to do with where I live. Quite often this summer I pulled into my local coffee shop with my new M3 and it was still the cheapest car in the lot. But it was the only E92 ///M so that was cool.

I've seen one while i was visiting korea. the wealthiest people there are concentrated in such a small area that if you pick the right spot on a weekend evening you can see all the rarest supercars within 15 minutes

Canton, huh? Quite a few people I know live there, so I've spent quite a bit of time in the area.

Yeah, you're totally right. Corvettes are quite common. Don't recall seeing any Z06s. Saw Vipers fairly often and there are definitely a ton of standard issue Jaguars, Hummers, MBs, and BMWs in the Farmington Hills area. There is definitely a far higher percentage of American cars in general (cheap or expensive) there due to the Big 3. My grandfather actually was a designer for GM (head designer of the Corvair, did the suspension for the '63 Vette I believe, quite a few others) and was none too happy with most of my car choices.

Biggest thing I miss about Michigan is driving 85-90 on 696. Here the average speed is like 60mph. It's quite maddening sometimes. I saw at least one Gallardo on 696 driving home from work in Royal Oak.

Generally speaking you see very few exotic or high end cars in the Twin Cities. With regular driving, I probably only see a Porsche etc.. maybe once a week. If you specifically go to some of the high end suburbs on a summer afternoon you can spot more. Everyone here drives SUV's.

If they do have a nice car it is in storage for 7-8 months of the year.

Exotics

Where I live and commute (between Clearwater and Tampa) I do see a fair share amount of exotics along with many high-end cars. There's even at Bentley Cont. Coupe and a Maserati at my school haha. Mostly Bentley's here and not so much ferraris strangely even though we have both dealerships fairly close together. International Mall is where I see many of the goodies. I still consider my car sexy though :P

I've seen 4 Veyrons in the area: 1 red/black, 1 smurf blue (like Laguna Seca on the E46 M3), 1 black/dark blue, and one metallic ocean blue/purple. Also, I've seen 2 Maserati MC12s, which are incredibly rare. Also saw a Reventon a few months ago.

A good point, its a fun drive, as are many other Detroit highways due to low policing and few speed traps. But, I would probably trade that for being out west. I'd probably want to be a little further south than Washington though.

I live in little neck and often go to manhassat/great neck. M3's are popular teen cars here so you see them quite often just at my gym i saw 3 other m3's (2 e92, 1 e90 a LOT of e46's) other than mine =(. Range Rovers, Bimmers, Benz's, Porsche's are all pretty common saw a few r8's , some aston's and high end AMG's (65's) but a lot less ( obviously lolol ) and occasionally some ferraris/lambo's. Theres always a yellow murcie parked in front of my gym though at the restricted area, so im guessings its the owners? and also a guy with enzo apparently everyone knows about him always drives on northern blvd in manhassat. lol

It may not be an FXX, but it IS a real Ferrari. I remember reading an article about how this super rich dude bought this one off car from Ferrari. I wish I know what key words to search for.

Anyone?

thanks for typing this up so I didn't have to, you name it we got it...especially since I live in Saddle River...I see/hear helicopters coming down to the helipads all the time and there aren't any hospitals anywhere near my house...

another thing I see a lot are the BMW mules and M-Benz mules (live near BMWNA and MBUSA) all over the place, supermarket, panera (especially during lunch time)...I was laughing the other day when I went to the supermarket and there were 3 Phantoms in the parking lot and I'm sure it wasn't a PHANTOM MEET!
