Production Order Numbers

I just ordered my new 09 E92 M3 this past Friday. My question is , How long until I get a production order number? Do I get anything else? or should I ask the dealer for anything else? I contacted my salesman yesterday and he said that the order is placed, but no production order number have been generated. I might be impatient, just been waiting for years for me to be able to afford this car and now I can. Plus, not it is a waiting game and it is killing me. Any thoughts on this? Where do I go from here?

Thanks,

Eric

If you don't have an order number but they say they placed your order, that just means they entered your specs and options in an order bank but the factory has yet to give them an allocation for production. It shouldn't take too long for an order number to pop up, unless of course your dealer is lying to you and they actually have a few people in front of you. But if you are indeed entitled to their next allocation, I wouldn't worry. Depending on the sales volume of your dealer, an order should be assigned sooner or later.

I got my production number 3 days after I placed the order. My dealer did not have an allocation for an E90 M3 so they had to get one from a dealer in New York. Ask them specifically if they have an allocation and if they do not, ask them to get it from somebody else or to tell you exactly when they plan to get one. As of now, your M has probably not been ordered.

I also got my production# for my '09 on the day I ordered it. Last I saw from the sheet my CA provided, I'm Status 111- Order accepted.
