08 JZB. Thinking of selling

Hi Guys,

What do think this could get me? Fully loaded and 2300KM. I am seriously thinking of selling and getting myself a 997TT

Any thoughts?

I guess if you can afford the Porsche do it. I am not familiar with the 997TT.

Is it here in Edmonton used?

It's actually 911 Twin Turbo. Don't quote me as I am learning as well 997 is the year (2004-present) It's like our E46, E90, E92

Yes it is in Edmonton. I got it on July 11 2008. Almost 2500 KM. Interested?

Hey AMJ_77, dont hijack my thread. Why don't you just trade yours in?

Something faster, you're funny.

How about something that guzzles more gas than a V10.

I want a M-DCT, in Space Grey, anyone got one?

The TT will be crazy.

Anyone test drive the used M6 at Barvaria yet?

Haha no kidding. Next thing after the TT I am gonna want a Ford GT.

I am currently working out a deal with Edmonton BMW for a trade on a 07 TT. We will see how it goes.

Personally, I would keep the M...weight distribution is much better than the 911, maintenance is covered on a spectacular car, and super-reliable (at least my e46 M3 was).

If I recall from a previous post, you were planning to park your M over the winter. For the amount you will lose on the M on trade and the amount you will likely have to fork out to get into the 997T, why not ship it down to Racing Dynamics to have the engine reworked?

I think the only thing I would trade my now April delivery e92 M3 for would be an Audi R8 or a pre-owned Gallardo.

Mind you, a 911 GT3 in white is undeniably one hot looking car.

Just my $0.02.

well for the mileage you mentioned, i would have taken it at 10k off MSRP. thats provided everything is as perfect as you described it. but the market just isnt looking for high powered gas guzzling cars right now. i think you should just set a price that youre willing to sell the car at and put it up on autotrader, etc ... if it sells, then get the 911 if not, just keep the M3 for another year or so and enjoy the car without taking such a big hit.

seriously i actually looked up autotrader for weeks for a canadian m3 for sale... i couldnt find one. asked my dealer to ask if any other dealerships have any used m3s for sale but there were only demo cars for sale and i wasnt willing to take a demo. i would probably have gone for a car with 10-15k discount off msrp with low mileage....

you just have to find the right person to take your car... after all, the m3 isnt a car that fits the budgets of the average joe. its not like a regular 3er.

Montreal JB is right...when I traded in my e46 M3 to Bavaria in April, 2007, I picked up a X5 3.0si. Drove it for two days and went back to the dealership to get my M3 back, and they said that they would buy the vehicle back for $60K, from a purchase price of about $78K. They said that that is what they could buy them for, so they would not spend more. Quite the markup, if that is true, but also means that your best ability to sell the car would likely coming from extolling the virtue of someone not having to pay the GST in a private sale.

But, then again, with what is happening in the economy, who knows? It could prove to be a hard time to move that vehicle.

Thanks guys for the comments. I will let you all know what happen. One thing for sure is I want that 911T regardless if I have to take a hit on the M. I have already talk to my dealership and they will buy it back from me. Maybe I will wait till spring. I have all winter to look for one.

I kinda agree with 2thdr. I would also go to Norden and see how you get treated. Don't wear baggy pants and your hat on sideways, that ain't gonna fly too well.

I think I am gonna do the deed and pull the trigger on an M3 and drop the 335xi. The M3 is superior in every way. I just gotta work out a deal.

I wear my sweat pants when I bought my M3. I was still treated very well. It really should not matter how a person is dress. And I purposely wear old t-shirt & sweat pants for that reason

Sparkg. Get the M. U will not regret it at all. U are more than welcome to test drive mine if you like.

I like the theory, maybe it is a better idea. Maybe they won't think you have money falling out of your pockets.

You mean the manual? I kinda had the jones for the M-DCT plus I still gotta somehow justify this to the other side so she can drive it. A 6MT is just not gonna fly. She'll prob never drive it. I also have had several MT cars, I am getting to old for that sh*t. Plus how am I gonna drink my Booster Juice.

Do you need to do the CDV on the M3 6MT?

Is there still issues on the DCT or have the updates fixed the issues?

Ugh, just read the DCT thread, my stomach feels oozy, that is f'in terrible that the DCT is having issues.

Man, I can do the 6MT but the M-DCT makes things so much simpler.

yea was debating the 6mt/dct thing too... in the end i decided to avoid the dct issues and give up a few tenths on the 0-60mph run by going manual... besides i think the manual would be a fun car... it'll be nice to get your own shifts just right... its not like i am going to be racing the car much besides the odd autocross event...

anyway to the op, how much did the dealership offer you to buy back the car?

sparky I have not really follow the DCT issues because I have a 6MT

Montreal I have not work out a deal with the dealership. I would imagine 10k off the MSRP. I rather sell to a private person because dealership will remarked it back up.

I can appreciate your wish for a more hardcore chariot but you will find that there is always another car to chase.; one with more power better handling better looks. Sure the M3 doesn't satify all your needs . But no car will
I thought you were going to try it at the track. There is a stratotech day this weekend ; try it out . See if it doesn't turn your crank.
As to the M-DCT as you know I have one and think it is fabulous, No issues at all.
I think though that I should have bought a 6 spd. because I only drive it on weekends like yourself. I now have 6,500 km . Will be parked in 2 weeks.
give me a call maybe we should do a trade for a week.
